The Topmost Floor in the City
Part 10

Hoseok's house was up on the hillside. It was the rooftop room of a dilapidated multi-family building that lay at a dead end. A narrow, winding alley threaded our form the dead end back to the Main Street. It was a long, steep climb, though.

When we got to Hoseok's room, Hoseok bragged, telling us it was the 'Topmost Floor in the City.' The rest of the world lay at his feet. And he was right. The rooftop room left us looking out at the entire city below us. When I looked down, the train station was right below us, the containers lining the railway. Just a little but further and I could see the school we went to together.

I could seen the river past our old school too. A large apartment couples sat at the door of the mountain further ahead. That's where I lived. Where I used to live

The hospital must've contacted my parents by now, since I'd escaped. They must be looking for me right about now. I didn't have the courage to face my parents again. I couldn't go home.

But I had nowhere to go and I had no money whatsoever. Hoseok was the one who brought me here to his house.

I looked over at the apartment complex again. I knew I'd have to go home someday. I'd have to see my parents again. I'd have to tell them that I'd never go back to the hospital again.
