Chapter 3 The end of the affair

Theon walks downstairs with Christina who looks into the living room to see Damon sitting drinking as he looks her way, Christina pulls him the most horrible face and walks of as Theon walks into the room

"You should apologise" replied Theon "she is upset Damon"

"What can I say?" asked Damon "Stefan doesn't want to come home, I told her the truth and she doesn't like it"

"Tell her there is still hope like you told Elena" replied Theon "because I know that you know that there is hope"

"Fine" groaned Damon

Damon walks outside to see Christina sitting on the swing as he joins her she moves away

"What do you want?" asked Christina

"Look I told you the truth the other day and there is still hope in bringing Stefan home" Damon explained "I was just upset because of what he told me"

"Damon it's fine but I know where he is and I was planning on going on my own" answered Christina "he's in Chicago"

Damon drives Christina and Theon to Elena's house

"Damon" replied Elena

"We are going to Chicago" explained Damon "Stefan is there"

They get in the car as Christina vamp speeds into the shotgun seat leaving Theon and Elena in the backseats

"Okay I don't like what we are going to see in Chicago" replied Damon

Damon parks the car in car park of a apartment as they get out and walk inside the apartments as Damon breaks the lock of Stefan's door as they enter and make their way to a cupboard

"These are the list of names of Stefan's victims" explained Damon

"Dad was Stef's victim" replied Christina "can't blame him he was a douche anyway"

Damon walks away with Theon

"Where are you two going?" asked Elena

"Finding Stefan" answered Damon "you two stay here and I give you a call if I find him"

Damon and Theon leave the apartment

"He trust me alone with you" laughed Christina

"Yes" answered Elena

Christina stops as she hears Stefan and Klaus coming

"Quick hide" whispered Christina "fetch me a wig I am going as disguised"

Elena yanks Christina into the cupboard closing it after her as Stefan and Klaus enter

"Why did you bring me here?" asked Stefan

"Because when we met back in the day you asked for his name Liam Grant's name, I think your sister came walking over and she pulled the horrible look ever" explained Klaus "I met your sister she has bit of an attitude which I like but why did you ask for his name"

"To write it down" answered Stefan

Stefan goes into the cupboard as he turns his head to see Elena and Christina as Christina smiles and Stefan smiles back and pulls out a bottle

"I got us a drink" said Stefan

Stefan and Klaus leave. Christina and Elena get out of the cupboard as Christina sits down on a chair

"He smiled at me" said Christina "he is the Stefan that I always knew or he wouldn't have smiled at me"

Damon and Theon comes back to see Christina and Elena

"What's up with you two?" questioned Damon

"Stefan smiled at me" explained Christina "oh and Klaus nearly found out that Elena was alive but Stefan didn't let him"

"I know where Stefan is going to be tonight" replied Damon

"Me and Damon is going to distract Klaus while you two speak to Damon" answered Theon

"Sounds good to me" said Christina

"Yeah we can do this" replied Elena

They walk to the bar as Stefan spots Damon and vamp speeds towards him pinning him against the wall

"What is wrong with you?" asked Stefan

"What is wrong with you? You kill Andie one day, you save my life the next. What are you good, bad? Pick one!" shouted Damon

"Klaus almost seen Elena today" said Stefan "you got to get her out of Chicago and bringing Chris along"

"She's not going anywhere until she's got you checked into vampire rehab and on the mend. Trust me. I've tried" explained Damon "Chrissy misses you Stefan she is not going anywhere either"

"She stays up all night Stefan crying for you" replied Theon

"Elena is the key to all of this" explained Stefan "Klaus can't know that she is alive"

"What are you talking about?" asked Damon

"She was supposed to die in the sacrifice and she didn't. Now Klaus can't create any new hybrids. His witch is seconds away from figuring that out. Tell Elena to go home and forget about me" explained Stefan "tell Christina it's alright and just to forget about me as well like I'm forgetting about her"

"Tell them yourself" replied Damon "come on Theon"

Damon and Theon leaves

"You two shouldn't be here" replied Stefan

"Where else would we be?" asked Elena

"What do you want? Damon won't be able to distract Klaus for long" explained Stefan

"Twin just come home" said Christina "I miss you"

Christina hugs Stefan and lets go. Elena embraces him and is about to stake him in the back with a vervain dart but suddenly spins around and grabs her arm hard

"How much clearer can I make?" asked Stefan "I don't want to come home"

"Klaus is obsessed with siring these hybrids. The second he knows you're alive, he'll figure out why it's not working" said Stefan

"Look, I know you're trying to protect me, but I can't let you do it. Come with me, Stefan, please" pleaded Elena

"And what do you expect if I do? Huh? It's never going to be the same, Elena" answered Stefan "I've left bodies scattered from Florida to Tennessee. Innocent people. Humans"

"Lexi found you like this before. In the twenties, and...and she saved you" explained Elena

"And you know what I did after that? I spent thirty years trying to pull myself together. To a vampire, that's nothing. To you? That's half your life" explained Stefan "you can't save me Chris"

"We are not giving up on you" growled Christina

"Yes, you can. It's done. That part of my life is done. I don't want to see you. I don't want to be with you. I just want you to go" explained Stefan "we are no longer twins anymore Chris"

Stefan walks away. Christina vamp speeds to the car as Elena arrives soon, Elena looks at Christina who been crying when Damon and Theon arrived

"Are you two okay?" asked Damon

"Just drive" answered Elena

They drop Elena home and head home as Christina vamp speeds into the living room when Theon sits down next to her taking hold of her hand as Damon walks in

"What did he say?" asked Damon

"He told me we are not longer twins Damie" sobbed Christina "I am going to kill him"

Damon hugs Christina who sobs into his chest, Christina soon fell asleep with her head resting on Damon's lap as Theon falls asleep
