alaska hesitated. she couldn't decide wether or not to go to help isaac or help odelia and zachary.
she looked down at the field and then her phone that was still blazing with more messages from the two back in the dormitories. she then realized that isaac was getting the medical attention he needed and decided to go quickly into the building.
she was heading towards her dormitory when she realized that the two were standing besides the wall before the entrance into the tower. the young boy and girl were using their fingers to signal to her to be quiet and walk over to them.
"what is going on?" she whispered curiously to the two. "we don't know. we're trying to get a better listen. it's squalor, harris AND rachel" replied odelia, emphasizing the "and".
the three inched closer to the entrance, all trying their best to listen.
"well what do you expect me to do?!" screamed Mrs. squalor. "i cannot go through with this plan alone. you two need to help!" harris spoke up. "we are! listen, we can do this. we just need a few more brilliant minds. that's the point isn't it? with all the elite advanced students in this one school, we can brainwash all of them into going through with our plan. we're teachers for crying out loud! they'll listen to us. with their brilliance, we can hack into data bases, create violent techniques and create any sort of devices needed for us to finally get the world in our hands"
the three could not believe what they were hearing. you could even hear rachel's maddening laugh after he finished.
odelia began to feel lightheaded. she couldn't comprehend everything that was going on. it didn't seem real.
her breathing began to pickup and the two others noticed. they began to worry and zachary whispered in her ear, asking if she was alright. she didn't answer and began to cry.
"who's there?!?" boomed a voice from the tower. zachary and alaska began to panic, knowing that they would be coming down the steps to see who had been making the noise.
the two grabbed odelia by the arms to give her comfort and try their best to reach the dormitory, trying to go as fast as they could with the loud footsteps of the evil three people lurking closely behind.
eventually they safely made it around the corner and into zachary and isaac's room.
odelia sat huddled on the floor. her anxious cries worried her two friends in front of her. zachary , being the book worm he is, remembered reading something in the medical text books about anxiety and panic attacks.
alaska tried to look for some water in the young boys' mini fridge by their beds while zachary tried to calm odelia down.
before he knew it, his lips were interlocked with hers in such a sudden rush, that it probably only lasted three seconds.
alaska turned just as the moment happened and couldn't help but lightly laugh to herself in that moment.
the two teens pulled away from each other, realizing that odelia had calmed down. she looked at zachary and tried her best to put the words together to ask why he did that but all he did was pull her into a hug. "i read a book once. it said that the easiest way to get rid of an anxiety attack is to kiss the person. it makes them hold their breathe for a while and come to a sense of relaxation. i know this is overwhelming, it is for all of us. but we can't give up now. not when we know too much and we know we can help."
the two girls were stunned at the boy's words. neither of them knew zachary had that in him.
they were all a bit overwhelmed with the whole situation. i mean, who wouldn't be?
alaska reached down slowly, handing odelia a bottle of water. zachary let go of the embrace and cleared his throat, trying his best to not make the situation awkward.
zachary snapped back into reality. "hey, how was the game? sorry we took you from it so early" "oh shit, i forgot" thought alaska. she was too caught up in everything, her last thought was on isaac. "forgot what?" zachary asked. guess she that part out loud. "issac got hurt playing. just as i was going to check on him, you texted me. i saw he was getting help, so i came her instead. he should be fine. but we should go check on him right now." they all had a look of concern on their face, but agreed to go down to the medical center where isaac would most likely be held. if they're going to save the world, the least they could do is be normal teens for this one night and check on their friend before coming up with an attack plan to tackle this whole situation.
they all made sure odelia was alright, and agreed to all head down. alaska couldn't help but smirk at zachary, to which he just said "shut up" to her in a whisper. she chuckled.
just as they were about to take their first step out of the door, there was already someone there.
