Chapter 5

Alec's pov

I and Jace runned to the Ops center to look why the alarm is on. "What's going on? Is someone trying to attack?" I asked from my fellow shadowhunters. "No, sir. Look", someone said and pointed to the door where came out Raj. "Oh, how that guy was annoying." "Raj, why have you turn the alarm on?" I was standing with my arms crossed. "That guy is only a problem."

Raj head turned to me and I saw he had blood in his face and clothes. "Me and Paul met two vampires when we were on mission. And when they saw us they tried to attack us! Paul tried to speak some sense to them but they wouldn't listen. So one of them attack Paul and the other me. I was prepared so I killed the vampire, but the other one got Paul. He was sucking Paul's blood when I catched him. Paul is in Infirmary and they say he's gonna be alright", Raj explained it eyes shining. "Like that is a good thing"

"Okay, the main thing is that you both are alive. I want the report to be on my desk tonight. Did they say when Paul can talk?" I asked. "No, but I think maybe tomorrow. They say he needed just rest and fresh blood. And oh! I almost forget! Here are the vampire's fangs who sucked Paul", Raj said with pride and gave them in my hands.

I looked them disgust. I have to breath few times really deep because I didn't want to lose control again. "Why in the name of the Angel, did you take them?" Raj looked shocked. "You couldn't done worse. We don't want to war with them. We want to make peace and tearing pieces of them is not the right way!" I yelled the last words.

"They have started this war. Or don't you remember? How they summoned the demons who took our relatives, our families lives?" Raj yelled me back.

I got flashbacks seeing my little brother dead in my arms.

"I haven't forgotten, and I haven't forgive them. But it's been almost 6 years. I don't want children to live in war. I want to make peace for all of us. We fight demons. We protect humans, families and all of them who can't protect themselves. And that is the thing everyone has forgotten because we have been too busy fighting against warlocks and vampires. It's time to put end of this. It will be time to make peace with them. You insteed do what is your job. Kill demons and protect humans."

Raj sighed. "And if I don't do that?" "Well, after a night in the cell, I wanna hear you decision again." I looked him in the eyes and saw when he understood my words.

"Take him to the cell", I said to Irina and Creta, who are mated to each other and I knew I could count on them.

"Can you send a message to all to be in Ops Center 9am tomorrow?" I asked from Izzy. "Of course, bro. What are you planning?"

"I'm just gonna make rules clear what you can do and what you can't. Hey Clary, how's Paul? Do you think I can talk to him tomorrow?" I asked when I saw her coming from Infirmary.

"Yeah. I thinks so. He just need some rest."
"Why you wanna talk him? You heard from Raj what happened", Jace asked and put a hand around Clary's waist and gave her cheek a kiss.

I felt knife in my heart. How badly I wanted that too. To be around some, who you could cherish, you is like your whole world and whom you can have family with.

"I don't trust Raj. I think, it didn't happen like Raj say it did. I just want to be sure."

"Heey, did I miss something?" Simon asked when he came. He had changed his clothes and he had done his hair. "Yes, like always but don't worry, I'm gonna tell you", Izzy said and kissed him.

"You guys ready?" Simon asked from Clary and Jace. "Give me five minutes", Clary said, kissed Jace on the cheek and ran away.

I just looked them so devastated. Jace must have seen that because he said "Hey Alec, you wanna come with us? We gonna grab a dinner and maybe going to club." He smiled me understanding.

He tried to ask me with them, so I wouldn't be so lonely. But clearly they are going to date and I don't wanna be the fifth wheel. They deserve to be happy together and some days I just couldn't be happy for them. Like this. "Why do they get to be happy and not me?"

"No thanks. I'm pretty tired and I really need a good night sleep. Tomorrow is a big day. I think, I try to contact High Warlock of Brooklyn and leader of Vampires. I need to think how to purpose the idea of peace."

They all looked me pity in their eyes. "Have fun night, guys!" I said to them and walked in my room. I took my clothes off and left only boxers on and dove into sleep. "Maybe tomorrow would be a better day."
