Dean's heart skips a beat. "But you just said the angels will kill you if they get a hold of you!"

Cas smiles, completely unperturbed. "Relax, Dean. I'm not suicidal. But I do need my human memories back. I think there might have been something I noticed as a human, that I didn't tell you. I think it's important."

"Not suicidal, huh? Well, it sounds like you are. And what could possibly be worth the risk of dying?"

Dean is interrupted by Cas' lips on his. He closes his eyes.

It's over much too soon for Dean's taste.

"I'll be back. I don't want to argue with you, Dean. But I have to do this."

Cas places his hand lightly on Dean's forearm, directly over the hand print he left, years ago, and then he's gone.

Dean stares through the air where Cas used to be for a second, and then goes to join his brother in the shooting range. He needs to shoot something, to get his mind off of his worry.

'Cas had better come back. If that son of a bitch decides to die, just as things are starting to look up, I will kick his ass, so help me.' Dean thinks to himself.
