The difference between the pen colors bothered August more than she'd care to admit. If she were to show her mismatched writing practice papers to Lang, the perfectionist's last threads of sanity would snap. The nurse had more than enough on her plate at the moment with how she was coordinating the Green Cough cure project. Calling Lang high-strung would be an understatement when she believed she was the person in charge of saving Caelum from its own demise. August sighed and threw her crumpled paper into the fire; she supposed she'd lie and say she lost it.
The unmistakable yips of Shaymin grabbed her attention, directing her gaze to the rustling trees ahead. Omar emerged from the foliage with young Sky Forme Shaymin circling around him. The Shaymin squealed in joy as they tried to place a flower crown on the shipbuilder's head, yipping in determination while he playfully dodged their antics.
A smirk tugged at August's lips. She teased, "C'mon, Omar. You can fend off brawlers, but not Shaymin? Shame on you fo' getting soft."
Laughing, Omar said, "It's harder than it looks. You try outsmarting a flying litter of Shaymin."
As he spoke, he slowed to a stop and stayed still long enough for the Shaymin to drop their flower crown atop his dreads. Mission accomplished, the Shaymin cheered then sped off back into the forest. Omar grinned and adjusted the Gracidea-woven headdress so it didn't cover his eyes as he sat beside August.
