"Mom, dad could I invite a friend around for dinner tomorrow?" I ask my parents tomorrow's the day I want to introduce them to my boyfriend Chris. I don't know what they'll think of him I mean they probably heard the rumours about him but you can't judge a book by its cover. "Sure honey. It'll be ready usual time." My mom replies. I smile widely. "Thank you." I run upstairs with a huge smile on my face and get myself ready to settle down for the evening. I don't know if my parents will approve I'm 13 and my boyfriend as people call him is a trouble maker. But Chris is far from a trouble maker he is one of the sweetest boys you will ever meet. He's kind, caring and so sweet. Nothing like those rumours people keep spreading.

The next day I wake up and get ready to hang out with the guys. I go to the treehouse and do the secret knock just incase anyone Is there. The door opens and reveals my boyfriend's smiling face I climb into the house and see that we are the only ones there at the moment. Perfect I can ask him without being interrupted by one of Teddy's comments. "Hey Beautiful." He says whilst hugging me. "Hi, so listen there's something I want to ask you." "What is it?" "Would you come around my house for dinner tonight to meet my parents?"
"Of course anything for you." I smile and quickly peck him on the lips. We cuddle up against the wall and talk until the others get there. Of course the teasing from Teddy comes in.

It gets to the time where dinner would almost be ready. So I nudge Chris "hey dinner's almost ready, you ready to go?" "Yeah come on, we'll see you guys later dinner's almost done." I hear a chorus of see yas as we leave the treehouse and walk toward my house I can feel Chris start to squeeze my hand a little. I stop him for a minute. "Hey everything okay?" I ask with concern laced into my voice. "Yeah just a little nervous." "Its ok I'm sure everything will be ok." We carry on walking until we get to my house. I knock on the door and my mom opens it. "Hi honey. Is this our guest for tonight?" She asks. "Yes, this is Chris." "Well come on in then." She says with a smile and I can tell it's fake. I lead Chris into the dining room where my father is. He smiles as he sees me step in but then It falters a little as Chris steps in. "Darling may your mother and I talk to you alone for a minute?" "Uh sure, Chris wait here a second." I walk into the living room with my mother and father. "So is that Christopher Chambers?" My mother asks. "Yes why?" I reply. "We've heard rumours about him darling we've heard he's a trouble maker." My dad says. "I know about the rumours but honestly they aren't true Chris and I have been friends for so long and we've been dating for a few months now 7 at most. And he's done nothing but be a sweet gentleman, please just give him a chance for my sake." I reply. The both look at eachother and nod hesitantly. We all go into the dining room where dinner is laid out. Chris pulls my chair out for me and I sit down. I smile and thank him once he's sat down. "So chris I hear you are dating my daughter." My father states catching both chris and I off guard "Yes sir we've been dating for nearly 8 months now." "I hope you have been treating her well." "Well I like to think I have I love her really I know we're only 13 but I love Mia." "I understand son I met Mia's mother when we were twelve and we've been together since we were 13 also." "I remember those days." My mom replies  with a sigh. She smiles at me and we continue to eat and make small talk.

Dinner went perfect Chris and my parents got along really well they bonded just like I'd hoped they were a bit iffy at first because of the rumours but they pushed them aside. I was seeing Chris out when I said: "I told you everything would be ok." "I know you did. You Mia America are the best thing that has happened to me." "And your the best thing that has happened to me." I hug him and he leaves. I smile and close the door leaning against it. "He's a keeper darling. We approve of him." My father tells me I smile widely and hug my parents.

Best thing indeed.
