Jon
He slumps down into his seat at the head of the council table, Sam sitting at his right and Narami on his left and the rest of the Captain filling the other seats at the table. A cup of refreshment before each one of them to make up for the fact that they had to sit in a tedious meeting for a while. It was the annual captains meeting, again without Liam or Martil being there. It felt weird to not have them there but he knew they had their excuse.
He clenches his hands together and placed them on the table before him leaning forward and clearing his throat to get everyone's attention. All eyes were on him as he began to speak. "It's good to see you all." They all nodded agreeing they were happy to be here. "We have a lot to discuss if you have anything that needs addressing say so once we have been through everything." He says all of them nodding knowing the procedure already.
He nodded himself and looks to Narami before looking to the rest of them again, watching X take a sip of his wine his hands beneath the table. "The Lost Legion attacked my ship on route to Braavos. They killed 6 of our men... We killed most of their men and I spoke with the captain receiving the information that he was hired by the Masters to kill me and you lot." They men mumble amongst themselves there eyes widening.
Xonton shifted in his seat, he could tell he was uncomfortable Yinta looked to be so too. "We were attacked," X said out of nowhere all eyes going to him. "In Braavos, none of our men was injured and we managed to get out with minimum bloodshed." He explained placing his arms on his armrests and leaning back in his chair.
Jon nodded feeling the dread in his chest begin to fade. "We will have the proper burial arrange for our men, their names will be carved into the wall with the others." The men nodded lowering their heads in respect for there fallen.
He let his eyes flicker over all of them as he continued. "I and Narami apprehended a Legion member in Yunkai attempting to find the man in charge. He was our consolation prize because when we got there the man we were looking for was already dead. The man we have has only told us what we know already. We cannot trust the Masters and we have to be ready for if they attack again." His tone was overly serious to emphasise the danger they may be in.
"Why would the Masters want us, we have done nothing to them?" Aero asked, his eyes mirroring the confusion in everyone's eyes.
Jon swallowed, "Our men are in league with the Dragon Queen." He said quoting the men he had interrogated, everyone looked to be even more confused. "Liam and Martil offered our services to the young Queen, Daenerys Targaryen, and helped her take Yunkai." He explained, the men knew that Liam and Martil were excused but didn't know what for.
They all mumbled again looking to one and other in shock. "She has 8,000 unsullied and three dragons at her arsenal. And what she is doing with them is saving people. The Masters are corrupt and self-serving, Daenerys wants to change that. She has freed slaves and looked to rid the practice from Essos for good and I have to say I really don't mind being attacked to help her do that."
The men nodding understanding why he was so calm with knowing that their men were involved with this political game. "She has dragons?" He turned to the by standing against the wall behind Sam, in his hand a leather folder filled with papers most likely belonging to Sam. He looked to Sam seeing him shrug.
Jon smiled at the boy and nodded. "Aye, she had three fire breathing dragons. They practically destroyed a mase in Astapour." He explained, the boy's eyes filling with awe and wonder. He let his eyes fall back to Sam's asking him what he was doing in here, he gave a look that told him he was here to help.
"I have sent a letter to her saying just as much to her, if we are going to be allies then we have to keep communication." He spent a whole night writing the letter he had sent, the words coming out emotionless or filled with too much emotion. It took him a while to find the right combination and try and not just tell her the truth. It felt weird writing to a family member in such a way and knowing she would read it as if he was just the leader to the men she had hired. He wanted to go to her and tell her in person but he had men that depended on him and she was already well protected by his men, she didn't need him. Just yet.
