Going on a Mission

#26384!" A man who looked to be in his late forties yelled out at the class of young androids.

"Here sir!"

"#21308!"

No response.

"#21308!" The man yelled again.

"There was a malfunction with her system. She's in repair, Sir." A younger android explained.

The man nodded and continued.

"A mission? In China?"

"Yes. You are being sent there to get information on-

"I thought I had a malfunction in my system?"

"No, I only used that as an excuse to get you in here."

"Why do I have to do it?!"

"You are one of the most developed androids in our facility. You also seem to know a lot about human characteristics and are capable of copying them."

"We will be sending you to FXR high school.
Just try to blend in and don't act suspicious."

"But-

"No buts. Go pack a bag and get recharged.
You will have to be at the airport by 6:30 AM tomorrow morning."

"Okay. I'll set a reminder."

"Here." The older man held out a brand new phone.

"What for?"

"So that you can contact us. Also, most people your age have phones."

She nodded in response.

"If anyone asks you, you are Peng Xichen, 16 years old and you are from America."

"Got it."

"And lastly, make sure know one finds out your not human..."
