THE FIRST SNOWFALL HAD befallen the castle grounds and both Remus and Juliet were outside to watch it. The were reading on a bench, both of them glancing at the other when they weren't looking. Sometimes they made eye contact and quickly looked away, getting slightly flustered for a few seconds. Remus was looking at Juliet when he noticed the first few snowflakes start to fall. "It's start to snow," He states causing Juliet's head to shoot up.

Remus watched as a large smile grew on Juliet's face and she moved her book off her lap and onto the bench. She wrapped her cloak closer and stood up, holding her hands out as the snowflakes landed on her hands and almost instantly turn into water droplets. Juliet started laughing. She loved the winter. Some many good things came with it, in her mind. Remus couldn't help but smile as he listened to her laughter.

Juliet turned to look back at Remus. "Do you like snow?" She asked him, causing the boy to nod in response. "Then come on, we can catch snowflakes! My brother and I used to do it as children." Juliet walked over to Remus and grabbed his hands, forcing him to stand up. She pulled him over the middle of the yard and let go of him to reach her hands out again. "So, do we just catch snowflakes and watch them melt?" Remus asked her, confused.

Juliet laughed at him. "Yes! My brother and I, we would run outside and stay there for hours to catch the snow. He was told that Snow represents changes and new beginnings. So, we would catch snow in hopes that the more snow we caught the better changes and new beginning would come our way," Juliet explained to him and she walked around slowly with her hands cupped.

Remus stood with his hands cupped together as he stared at Juliet. He watched as the snow got caught in her hair, leaving little white spots on her head. He couldn't help it. Something about Juliet Reed captivated him in ways he didn't understand. This girl changed his life and she had no idea. She gave him something to think about constantly, and something to look forwards to. Remus always told himself he was better off alone, but he couldn't help but want to keep her close.

Juliet stopped when she noticed Remus standing there staring off into space. She let her smile cover her face again and she walked towards him. "Are you going to catch snow or not?" She asked him, pulling him out of his thoughts. "Can we catch it together?" He asked her without thinking about it. Both of their faces immediately turned red and averted eye contact. "I-i didn't-" Juliet cut his stuttering off. "Yes." Remus smiled softly at her and walked to her. He slowly grabbed her hands held them together to make one big cup shape.

Juliet smiled softly at their touching hands and looked up at Remus who was looking down at her, and they stayed like that for what felt like forever.

Sirius and James watched as Remus held both his and Juliet's cloak as they walked into the Gryffindor commons room. Other students stared and glared at the Slytherin, but the two boys only smirked. They continued watching as Remus said something to Juliet, making her giggle. The pair approached Sirius and James with smiles. "Sooo, how was studying?" Sirius drew out his words as he looked between the two.

"It was good, Remus caught me up completely on Transfigurations and Potions," Juliet answered Sirius. "Is that all?" James asked as he looked directly at Remus. "We caught snow," Remus told him. "You caught snow?" Sirius asked as if that was the most ridiculous answer he'd ever heard. "Yes, haven't you ever caught snow before?" Juliet took her turn to question them. Both boys shook their heads no.

Juliet gasped and look at them like they were crazy. "What?! Did you boys not have any sort of childhood at all?" She exclaimed, not know how any of these boys couldn't have done or even known about this. "It's when you go out and put your hands together and try and catch as many snowflakes as possible," Juliet explained to them. "Why would you want to do that?" James spoke up. "To bring better change," She told him. "Oh, I get it!" Sirius told her excitedly. "I'm glad," Juliet chuckled.

"So i'm just the bloody idiot then?" James asked her with an annoyed expression on his face. "No, it just makes you not as smart in this area of knowledge," Juliet chuckled at him. "That- That doesn't help!"

———

Juliet walked into the Slytherin commons room as quiet as she could. It was nearing 11 p.m. and she had managed to sneak around the perfects. Juliet had spent the evening with the boys, as Peter eventually joined the group and their laughter. It was odd. 2 months ago, Juliet didn't want friends. She was fine with it just being her and Narcissa. Even then when she knew she was going to die sooner than later.

Now, when she's actually facing death at all times, she finally branched out, and found a group that she somehow fits into. "You're coming in late." Juliet let out a loud gasp and stumbled backwards slightly. "Sorry, didn't mean to scare you." Juliet recognized that voice. It was Regulus Black, the 5th year Slytherin Prince.

"Tell, Juliet, when did you become best friends with my brother, the blood-traitor?" Regulus hissed out at her. "Regulus, get over yourself. And pull your head out of ass while you're at it." Juliet rolled her eyes at him. She turned around and started walking away before she was roughly grabbed and slammed into the stone wall behind her. "Listen here, Reed, maybe there is something still redeemable about my brother, but James Potter? Remus Lupin?" Juliet tried to focus on calming her heart down as it was racing rapidly. "They will always be blood-traitors. Hell, Remus Lupin is a half-blood!"

Juliet stared at him with a deep hatred in that moment. "Regulus Black, if you think for one second, that I will let you dictate who my friends are, you're bloody mad!" Juliet fathered the strength to shove him backwards, causing him to stumble. "I don't care about any of this shit anymore. My friends are all witches and wizards, and even if Remus is a half-blood, he isn't a muggle-born, so back the hell off!"

Regulus put together his composure and stood up straight to face Juliet in the eyes. "Blood-Traitor."

"Regulus, that's enough." Juliet turn her head to see Narcissa standing on the stairs in her nightgown. "She's not a blood-traitor, and if I hear you call her that again, we will have a problem. Do you understand?" Narcissa's voice held authority over his. She wasn't going to take no for answer. Regulus hesitated to nod, but did nevertheless.

"Come on, Jules, you need sleep."
