Think about it- if Harry and Hermione had ended up together, Ron would've been like a replica of Snape.
I can imagine him sitting there, thinking about how he lost Hermione and how he regrets it. I don't know about you, but I would've cried tons. As in, TONS.
Even if J.K.R said it would've been nice if they were together, I think that would've been cruel. I mean, WE DONT WANT ANOTHER SNAPE.
As much as I ship both Harmione and Romione (Though Romione much more), that would've been heartbreaking, right?
