Authors Note:
HEY GUYS!

I'm here with another story.

So a little like descriptive check:
Jonathan and Alice are both 16, and in high school (obviously).
As you will read, you'll find out that has lots of problems in her home life.
It's cliche that at least one character has like a bad family or they're poor or whatever, but I mean I like being cliche so it's ok.

This story is set in 1982, in Wisconsin.

Heights:
Jonathon- 5'10
Alice- 5'4

Okay, that's all.
Hope you enjoy this really random book. 😌

Jonathan
It's the night before the first day of school.

I've already picked out an outfit that suits the weather: a blue and white striped polo shirt with my tan corduroy pants. Oh, and my new polished loafers.

My father just got his third car, which is a big deal considering almost everyone in Weathershead only has two cars.

I wonder if Gary and Frank have 3 cars.

Gary and Frank are my closest friends.

Pillie and Mike and Donald are also good friends of mine.

Living in Gorge Town, it will probably rain tomorrow, so I go ahead and add my brown trench coat to my outfit.

"Jonathan! Lights out by ten! Turn off that dog on radio!" My father yells from downstairs.

I jump into my bed and close my eyes.

Tomorrow has to go well.

It has to.
Alice
Tomorrow's the first day of school.

I haven't even prepared for it because Aunt Linda keeps making me do my chores that I've already done earlier.

"Go clean the dishes! Go wash that damn cat! Go feed yourself!" And many more.

Since I'm turning 16 in a couple of months, I might get my drivers license, so I could get out of here sometimes.

"I don't hear you cleanin'!"

God, why can't she leave me alone?

I turn on the vacuum in the living room and walk to my room.

It was behind the couch, and it had a curtain for a door.

Inside I had my 5 records and my ancient record player, sitting on top of my old dresser that has 3 drawers.

Right next to that is my squeaky twin sized bed.

That's it.

I plop down on my bed and stare at the ceiling.

I wonder if I'll make some friends this year.

Alice, you actually have to talk to people.
My subconscious reminds me.

Everyone thinks I'm weird because I'm practically a skeleton, and I haven't talked to anyone- ever.

Even the kids I've known since kindergarten.

All of a sudden the vacuum shuts off, and the curtain swings open.

"DIDNT I TELL YOU TO CLEAN, MISSY!" My aunt screams at me.

"I was just taking a break. I told you I already cleaned the entire house yesterday."

Her heavily painted eyes narrow, but she does turn around and stomp out.

I guess I could wear the new dress I got from GoodWill.

It's baby blue and has a poofy skirt.

Maybe people will talk to me if I wear my best dress.

Maybe.

Jonathan
It's freezing outside this morning.

I'm currently waiting at the bus stop for Gary.

He usually is here by now.

A loud beat up truck pulls to the stop, and I hear someone yell from the inside, "Get out, bitch!"

A girl is shoved out of it and it speeds off.

It's the quiet girl.

Why is she here?

She gets up off her knees and dusts off her dress.

I never knew she wore dresses.

She adjusts her mid length ponytail and walks to the other side of the bus stop sign.

I can see her breath fog out of her lips because of the cold.

She doesn't even have a jacket.

Brunette stands of hair fly out of the already loose updo.

It's tied together with a bow the same color of her dress.

"Jonny! My boy!" I snap out of my trance and look over to Gary.

He has one of those sweater things tied around his shoulders.

He looks like he plays golf ever weekend with his dad.

"Hey man." I walk over to him.

"What're you doing with the weird girl? It looks like you were drooling all over her."

I scoff. "No way, dude. The day I talk to her is the day I die."

He smirks, and the others come walking up to us.

Thank god.

I didn't want to be alone with her again.
