Tyler was left to watch Ashley while us girls hopped in Sydney's 2019 Bentley. I've never seen such luxury! I couldn't help but run my hands along the clean leather seats.

We arrived at the beach in under 15 minutes. Trinity hopped out first and went to the trunk of get our beach towels and bag of sunscreen, tan lotion, and snacks. Sydney brought her wallet in case we wanted to buy anything from the gift shops or ice cream huts.

"Trinity! You didn't have to get those!" Sydney said with a smile. She had gotten out of the car and walked over to the trunk to pick up the bags. "You guys are my guests and I'm here to treat you as one."

"You're pregnant, Sydney! We got this!" Trinity pulled the bags closer to her as if they were her child and walked away. Sydney sighed and followed, not before closing the trunk of the car.

We all walked side by side down the wide sidewalk towards the bathrooms where the sidewalk ends. People in their bathing suits walked in and out the stone structure. Waves came and went around the showers to clean off the sand on their feet and hands. One kid was covered head to toe in sand. His father stuck him right under a shower head and held him there as the water fell down his son's body.

Sydney suggested we make our way down towards the water. The waves from the ocean crashed perfectly on the shore. Kids ran along the edge in excitement. A group of teenage boys threw a frisbee in the shallow end of the beach. A few moms suntanned farther up the sand. I could see seagulls trying to grab food out of lunch bags, dogs trying to chase the birds and crabs, kids digging holes until they disappeared in the sand.

Kiera squealed. "I'm so excited! Come on guys! We don't have all day!" She left the sidewalk and made her way down the hot sand. The rest of us followed, Sydney trailing behind. I slowed down and walked beside her.

"Oh sweetie. You don't have to walk with me. I can handle myself."

I shrugged. "I don't mind walking slow. Besides, might as well get to know my future sister-in-law."

Sydney laughed. "Speaking of that, how are you and Collin doing?"

"Oh," I said. Now I wish I had kept my mouth shut.

"That doesn't sound good," she said. "Do you want to talk about it?"

I let out a sigh. "Well, we kinda want different things in life. I want to go to college and start a career and he wants to settle down and start a family."

"I see," Sydney pondered.

"And I don't know if I'm ready to have a family now. I'm not even 20 yet and he already wants kids."

Sydney stopped and placed her hand on my shoulder. "You want to know something? I wanted to finish college first before I had kids too."

"Really?!" My eyes widened.

Sydney laughed. "Yes! I'm a lawyer! I didn't want kids to ruin my career that I worked so hard to build! But eventually I gave in and was able to finish my college degree."

"Yeah, but it's different for you," I said. "You have grown up in a world of werewolves. While for me, I've been living in the world where getting married and having kids at 18 is frowned upon. I'm not sure if I'm okay with that."

Sydney pulled me in an awkward hug. I tried to avoid her stomach as much as possible in the hug. She pulled back and looked at me. "I know it's hard. I don't know what life was like for you. I only got glimpses of a human life from visiting friend's houses in high school. But I know you will make a decision that makes you and Collin happy."

I smiled slightly. "Me too."

"Hey!" Trinity called from down the hill of sand. "Come on! We don't have all day!"

I rolled me eyes and made my way down, staying close to Sydney.

We both made it down without any falls. Four towels were already laid out with an umbrella and beach chair set up for Sydney. A bag for food and another for our other beach stuff sat on Kiera's pink and white striped towel.

I slipped off my flip flops and dropped the bag I was carrying. I threw my cover off to reveal my swimsuit. It was a forest green top with a floral bottom. I applied sunscreen on myself quickly before I ran out to the clear blue water.

Kiera, Trinity, and I spent a good hour splashing each other and trying to tackle each other into the water. Sydney sat in her beach chair with a book. She watched us a few times as we messed around like little kids.

The three of us eventually ran out of energy. Trinity suggested we go dry off and relax in the sun for a bit.

"Oh! I brought some money! Why don't we get some ice cream! I've been dying to have some!"

"We can get some later," I said. "Why don't we dry off first."

"Sounds like a good idea," Trinity said. The three of us sat down at our towels, letting the sun dry us off. I watched the water for a little bit before I noticed a girl with red hair walking by.

Why did she look so familiar? And that little girl with her. Where have I seen them before? The red head looked at me. I quickly looked away, but I couldn't help but catch glances every so often when she wasn't looking.

Suddenly, the little girl who was chasing the seagull earlier came running at me. I sat up and grabbed her before she ran me over.

"I believe this belong to you," I said. I walked over and handed the little troublemaker to the red haired girl.

"Yes, I'm sorry if she kicked sand at you guys!" I didn't notice Kiera and Trinity we're close behind me. "Taylor, you cant just run off like that, okay?" The red head scolded the little one. It looked like sisters being sisters.

"It's a busy beach and I don't want to lose you," the girl said.

I waved it off. "It's fine," I said. "I'm just glad I was able to catch her!" Trinity and Kiera walked up to me. Kiera had a bright look on her face.

"It was actually quite entertaining!" Kiera said with a smile. I knew she would love the girls. "I'm Kiera by the way."

"Oh!" I exclaimed. "I feel so rude! My name's Baleigh, and this here is Trinity." I gestured over to Trinity. She waved and smiled.

The red head shook our hands. "I'm Adelyn and this is Taylor, my niece."

Why did those names sound familiar? I swear I had seen these girls before, but I couldn't place where.

"Ooo! Is that one over there you're ma-boyfriend?" Oh no. Kiera almost gave us away. Well, most of us. I looked behind Adelyn and Taylor and saw two guys standing close by. They looked quite handsome, but suspicious at the same time. I kept a close eye on them.

Adelyn looked ready to say no, but quickly changed her mind. "Y-yes. The blonde one actually."

"Ooh! He's cute!" Of course Kiera thinks he's cute. Even though she has a mate, she couldn't help but find a cute guy every once in a while.

"Well, he's not available, just so you know."

I rolled my eyes and smiled. "Well, they both have boyfriends."

She laughed. I looked back behind her and saw the two guys walking over. I somehow felt ready to fight them back, even if Adelyn said one of them was her boyfriend.

Adelyn noticed too. "Well we gotta go." She picked up Taylor. "It was nice talking to you guys!"

Trinity and Kiera waved goodbye. I did too. But I didn't keep my eye off of the girls. I knew something was up, and I didn't want to leave LA until I knew where and why.

Disclaimer: Adelyn and Taylor are not my characters! They belong to my friend Cavalier_Spaniel and her book "Lost Princess". We decided to join our werewolf universe together for fun so our books and characters can overlap!

Hope you enjoyed the chapter!! <3
