Chapter 7 Chloe's First Birthday

Jackie's POV: it's a new year it's January 1883 but there was something big going on it January 28,1883 today we were going to celebrate our daughter's first birthday Chavez and I had it all planned out we invited our closest friends I was busy blowing up balloons while Chavez and Doc went and got a birthday gift or two for Chloe Yen and Manuela made the birthday cake Chloe was taking her nap while we did all of this as we were baking the birthday cake and blowing up balloons Doc and Chavez returned with the birthday gifts I told Chavez were to them and he placed the gifts on a table then we walked towards me and kissed me

Hi honey I said

Hi "is she up yet? He asked

No not yet I figured I let you wake her up since she doesn't freak out when you do it I said

Okay I'll go wake her up he said

Chavez's POV: after I kissed Jackie I ran upstairs to Chloe's nursery I walked in and there she was she had her pacifier in her mouth and was sucking as I walked in she slowly stirred and started waking up once I got to her crib she slowly opened her eyes and looked up at me I smiled softly as I gently picked her up and held as well gently bouncing her she was a little crabby considering that she just woke up from her nap I got her dressed even changing her diaper once she was all dressed I brought her downstairs to the living room and kitchen where Jackie and everybody else was when I walked in Doc was sitting the table Jackie Yen and Manuela were busy making the birthday cake Jackie looked over at me holding Chloe she smiled softly as she walked over towards us I was so paying attention to Chloe that I didn't see Jackie walking towards us

Was she hard to wake up? Jackie asked

No actually as soon as I walked in she started to wake up she was a little crabby at first but eventually softened I changed her diaper and got her dressed by the way I replied

Thank you honey Jackie said then placing a kiss on me

I handed Chloe to Jackie but that turned out to be a big mistake because as soon as Jackie had her she started reaching for me and was crying Jackie was a little confused about it but realized that Chloe wanted to be with me so I took Chloe and set her down on my lap and held her I had wrapped a Navajo blanket around her as I held her she was sucking on her thumb and I gently bounced her on my knee while talking to Doc

You know it's really hard to believe that we were both married men with cute little babies Doc said

Yeah it just seemed like it was only yesterday that we were deputies/outlaws I replied

Oh man you've got Billy to blame for that Doc said

Oh I swear we spoiled that boy man oh man I said

We sat there talking for hours finally Jackie Yen and Manuela were done with the birthday cake and came and sat down at the table with us as we were talking Chloe noticed that front door started opening and she started pointing towards the front door I looked over to what she was looking at

"What? "What are you looking? "You looking at the front door hmm? I asked then gently kissing her cheek and bouncing her gently in my arms

the front door did opened and Billy and Jessica Billy's girlfriend walked in Billy was carrying two boxes which I assumed were birthday gifts for Chloe which in fact they were Billy and Jessica greeted us soon several more gusts arrived I placed Chloe in her highchair and Jackie brought out the cake Chloe was excited she was babbling and clapping her hands excitedly as Jackie set the birthday cake down on the tray of her highchair
