The rain came out of nowhere, one minute the skies were clear, the stars partially visible in the city lights, and the next it came down in heavy torrents. There wasn't a single open building nearby to take shelter in.
"Come on,dance with me," Wendy told him over the rain. "It's not as if you'll get dry if you don't,have some fun under the downpour," she said as she hopped and skipped like a child, having what seemed like the time of her life.
Jayson couldn't help but join her,as they moved in the direction they'd come from.
They saw a shade somewhere and he ran towards it,pulling her along. "Your place or mine?" He asked as he took his phone out.

"I don't know. I live all the way in Roysambu, how about you?"
"Well, that settles it then. My place is closer. Parklands it is." He said as he ordered a ride home.
The cab took no less than ten minutes to arrive and they hurriedly got in. The ride was a bit silent, both of them seemed lost in thought. They got to his place in a record fifteen minutes. He paid for the ride and got his gate pass from his wallet, ushering them both in to the posh apartments. He was all the way to the sixth floor and they took the elevator.
"Welcome to my humble abode," he said as he opened the door, letting her in. He switched the lights on and she couldn't help but be in awe of his living space. He had furnished most of his sitting room with pallet furniture, most of it painted a hue of black or grey. A large flat screen television was mounted on one of the walls. What really caught her eyes was the large book collection spread over two walls.
"The bedroom is this way," he said interrupting her.
"Can't wait to get in my pants now,can you?" She asked teasingly, managing a silly laugh out if him. She followed him into his room and noticed that it was furnished in the same manner, pallet bed, pallet closet.
"Get out of your wet clothes," he said, throwing a pair of sweats and an oversize tee to her. He left with a larger pair of sweats and a lose fitting sweater and closed the door behind him. She noticed that the sweats she'd been given had a strong lavender scent and couldn't help but wonder if they belonged to his ex.
"It's none of your business Wendy," she said out loud, and found herself laughing.
This boy had found a spot in her head, without even trying.
He came back to the sitting room before she did,and he turned on the stereo.
She found that she actually liked his playlist,or rather, part of it; it was mostly comprised of rock, of all subgenres, and a few pop, trance and Afro pop songs.

"

You're a weird guy,you know that, right?" She asked him, looking deep into his eyes and holding his captive.
"Tell me something I don't know," he said laughing.
"I love your book collection," she whispered in his ear as she got up from the couch towards his book shelf. " James Patterson, Sydney Sheldon, David Baldacci,oh and some good old Danielle Steel. All the classics."
"Books take you to a whole new universe," he said absent mindedly. "You get lost in the character's lives, their struggles,drama,pain...you know. And then you can actually escape reality, even if it's just for a short while. You forget all the pain and anguish that you're going through."
"Well, that was intense," she said, and a low laughter escaped her lips.
He found that he actually enjoyed looking at her lips, and he did not like where his thoughts wandering.
"Uum,some coffee? " he asked heading to the kitchen, not waiting for her answer.
"Strong, black and sugarless," she said going after him.
"What?" He asked.
"Strong, black and sugarless, that's how I like my coffee." She said as she sat on one of the stools in his kitchen.
He was busy with the coffee maker, trying to put a leash on his thoughts when she gently caressed his torso.
"Forget the coffee Jayson," she said in an almost inaudible gasp. "I want you now."
And she kissed him like he'd never been kissed before. He resisted it at first but he couldn't any longer.
"Wait, I can't do this," he said as he stopped.
"Yes we can. We are both adults,so stop making a fuss and take me now."
He swept her off the floor and they went to his room, the coffee boiling in the coffee maker long forgotten.
