Mark beat him to town and he found him on his first espresso. He lit up when he saw Jayson walk in through the door.
"Morning slugger," he greeted his best friend in the all too familiar manner he'd always done since childhood.
"Mark, for the last time,I ain't no slugger," came his rehearsed response.
"So,spill, umeniweka na suspense sana buda." Mark said as soon they both sat down.
"Si I told you we went to my place after it began raining?"
"Eeh, uliniambia."
"And yes, before you ask,we did it. That's just it, we had a wonderful time together. This morning I wake up and she's looming over me kissing me," he paused as the waiter came to get his order.
"A cappuccino please."
"Enhee, endelea."

Jayson stared into the distance for a while before he resumed talking. "You know what's funny? I feel something for her,and strongly if I might add. Maybe they're just feelings of a rebound, but doesn't make them go away. It's just so confusing."
"That isn't what made your morning interesting, is it?" Mark asked, looking at his friend who seemed distracted by something.
"She left and told me never to contact her. Which is confusing after the passionate night we had last night. I just don't know what I did wrong."
"She really grew on you, huh?" Mark said, lost in thought.
"I don't know, kinda. All I know is that we have a connection, or so I thought." Saying it,he felt like a lovesick fool. "Don't mind my silly notions."
"They're not silly Jay," Mark said in a serious tone and he couldn't help but wonder if there was someone special in his best friend's life.
Mark had never ready been one to believe in love and relationships. His was a life full of one night stands and booty calls now and then. In fact if his memory served him right,Mark had only been in one serious relationship, and it only lasted for a semester way back in campus, which by Mark's standards was an eternity. They however spent most of their time together.
"Any special someone Mark?" He found himself asking.
"None silly," Mark answered. "Plans for the day?"
"Not sure. I want to catch up on some pending depositions due next week and then probably go to Purdy Arms. You should join me then. You know, for some good old paintball."
"I'll be there. Though I still don't get why we still spend all that money on something we used to so for free when we were kids," Mark said laughing remembering the number of times they'd received a beating from their moms for mud fights during their childhood.
"Well, because we can afford to," Jayson answered as he got up to leave. "We meet there say at 3pm?"
"Sure," Mark said as Jayson left a thousand shillings for the coffee.
