Chapter 17

That evening, on Christmas Day, Snape and Rose went to Harry's house for the celebratory Christmas dinner. Snape was dressed in his black Weasley sweater, the watch Rose gave to him, dragon hide boots and his winter cloak. He wore his scarf and gloves as he held Rose's hand. Rose wore a pair of skinny jeans, a red and green turtle-neck Christmas sweater, cream color snow boots with brown faux fur trimmings, and a pair of poinsetta earrings with a matching necklace. Part of her hair was pinned up, while the rest remained loose. She wore her winter cloak, hat and gloves as she held Snape's hand. The house was decorated with the usual decorations. Fairies lighting up the trees outside. A Christmas Wreath hung on the door. Snape leads Rose to the front door and knocks. Harry opens the door and smiles. He wore a Weasley sweater, too. It was red with a yellow letter H on it. Harry said, "Hi dad. I'm so glad you're here!" He spots Rose and said, "Hi Rose, or should I say mum." Rose laughs as Snape chuckles. Snape said, "Hello Harry. Happy Christmas. Thank you for your gift." Harry said, "Happy Christmas, dad. You're welcome. I'm glad you like it." Rose said, "Happy Christmas, Harry." Harry said, "Happy Christmas, Rose." Harry hugs Rose and Snape , and steps aside to allowed them to enter. They enter and look around. Snape removes his cloak, scarf and gloves. Rose removes her hat and puts her gloves and scarf into her hat. Ginny smiles and welcomes them into their home as she puts their things away. Ron smiles and hugs Snape and Rose as he greets them. Then Hermione smiles and hugs them as she said, "Hi, Severus. Happy Christmas." Snape said, "Happy Christmas, Hermione." Harry leads everyone to the living room as Ginny and Hermione set the table and brought out the food. Harry said, "So, I take it you 2 are engaged now?" Rose grins as she nods and show them the ring. Harry looks surprised, "Wow, dad! That is some ring you got her." Snape chuckles, "Thank you, Harry. I wanted to make sure that she received the perfect engagement ring." Harry smiles, "Very nice, dad." Ron grins, "Congrats, Severus. You as well Rose." Snape smiles, "Thank you, Ron." Ginny pokes her head in and said, "Dinnertime!" Harry and Ron grin as they get up and head to the dining room. Snape chuckles as he takes Rose's hand and leads her to the dining room. He helped her to her seat then sat down himself. Harry and Ron did the same. They ate the Christmas/Celebratory dinner which consisted of Goose stuffed with Molly's famous stuffing, that Ginny made. Mashed potatoes with gravy, mixed vegetables, a glazed ham, mince pies and Christmas pudding. Ginny served the food as Harry poured the wine. They ate and drank as they chatted with one another. Once, they finished eating, Harry stands up and raises his glass. He said, "I'd like to thank Ron and Hermione for coming on this special occasion." Ron and Hermione raises their glass to Harry and smile. Harry smiles then raises his glass to Ginny and said, "To my lovely girlfriend for this amazing dinner. Hermione helped of course." Ginny raises her glass back at him and smiles as Hermione once again raises her glass to him. Harry finally raises his glass to Snape and Rose. He smiles, "To my dad and his fiance, Rose. Congratulations on the engagement! I hope you enjoyed the Christmas/Celebratory dinner we prepared for you." Snape and Rose smile as they raise their glass to him. Snape said, "We enjoyed it very much. Thank you, Harry and Ginny." They sip their wine as Ginny put the left overs away and cleared the table. They sang carols and drank eggnog to end the evening. All too soon, it was time for Snape and Rose to go. They hugged everyone and said their good nights and Happy Christmas, then bundled up and went back up to the castle. Snape had a wonderful Christmas, especially since he got to spend it with Rose.

As January fadFebruary came, it brought with it bitter cold air and a blizzard or 2. Snape and Rose decided who they wanted to invite to their wedding. Snape chose Harry as his best man. Rose chose Ginny as her bridesmaid, as she knew Ginny and Harry well. Snape invited Ron Weasley and his girlfriend, Hermione Granger. He also invited Molly and Arthur, Bill and Fleur (Who invited her sister and her parents to come), George and Angelina, Percy, Charlie, Rose's parents of course (Since her father was giving her away), the entire Hogwarts staff, Kingsley Shacklebot (Since he will be marrying them), Andromeda and Ted, (Who will have their grandson, Teddy with them) and lastly, Neville and Luna. They agreed on a small wedding. Nothing fancy like what Lucius and Narcissa had. Rose wanted to carry a bouquet of white liles in honor of Lily. They decided on the date as well, July 30th. The day before Harry's birthday. Before long, it was Valentine's Day. The day for lovers. Snape had gotten Rose a Valentine gift. It was now in his pocket as he puts a slice of lasagna on both plates. He had just finish pouring wine in Rose's goblet as the fire turns green. Snape smiles as he sets the bottle down on the table. He walks over as Rose comes out of the fireplace. She waves her wand over herself to remove the soot, then pockets her wand. Snape smiles as he pulls her close and kisses her. Rose's kisses him back as she said, "Happy Valentine's Day, Sev." Snape said, "Happy Valentine's Day, Rose." Snape leads Rose to the table and helps her to her seat. He pushes her chair in, then sits himself. Snape said, "I've made lasagna, I hope you like it." Rose smiles, "I love lasagna. I'm sure your lasagna will taste incredible!" Snape chuckles as Rose takes a bite of the lasagna. She closes her eyes and chews, savoring the lasagna. She swallows it and takes a sip of wine. She said, "Correction, this is beyond incredible!" Snape chuckles, "Thank you." Rose smiles, "You're welcome." They continue to chat and eat lasagna. After they finished eating, they finish their wine. A slow song begins to play on the radio, that Snape had on the counter. Snape smiles as he stands and said, "May I have this dance?" Rose blushes as she said, "Of course." He takes her hand and leads her to the living room. He hold her close as they slowly revolve on the spot. Rose sighs happilyn as she said, "I can't believe that we'll be married in 5 months. Mother and father are so happy for us!" Snape smiles, " I can't believe it either, Rose. I am looking forward to the day I say, I do." Rose smiles lovingly, "I look forward to it myself. Where will we be going for our honeymoon?" Snape smiles, "To Shell Cottage. It's right by the beach. It's well away from other cottages. We can watch the sun set. Look up at the stars at night." Snape smirks as he adds, "Perhaps kiss under the starry night. It could lead into a very passionate night." Rose chuckles as she slaps his shoulder, "Sev, you are one naughty Slytherin." Snape shuckles, "Obviously." Rose said, "Watching the sun set, going swimming, and relaxing in the sun. It all sounds so romantic. Not to mention some love and attention from a very sexy Slytherin. " Snape chuckles as he kisses her. She returns the kiss as the song ends. Snape leads her to the couch and has her sit down. He said, "Are you ready for your Valentine gift?" Rose nods, "I am, Sev." Snape smiles as he takes a small black box and hands it to Rose. He said, "Happy Valentine's Day, Rose." Rose smiles as she takes the box and opens it. Inside was a winged heart pendant. The heart was a ruby. The small diamonds made the wings. Rose gasps, "It's beautiful, Sev! I love it!" Snape smile, "I'm glad you love it, Rose." Rose hands the necklace to Snape and said, "Will you please put it around my neck, Sev?" Snape smiles, "Of course." Snape takes the necklace puts it around her neck and secures it. Rose smiles and said, "I love you, Sev." Snape said, "I love you too, Rose." They lean in at the same time and kissed as their lips met. Snape's hand going into her hair as they kissed. Lily pops her head in and smiles as she said quietly, "Happy Valentine Day you two." She giggles and leaves her frame.
