The airplane landed and to the Grande's surprise, it was also raining in New York. Guess the gloominess wasn't left behind in Melbourne. The Rolls Royce took them back to their townhouse and suddenly it didn't feel like coming home at all. Frankie and Zac stayed back to help with the luggage while Ariana and Avia entered the house.

"Hello? We're home." Ariana called out and upon receiving no answer, told Avia to wait while she went to her mothers study. She saw her on her corner desk, hidden behind the newspaper, as she always was.

"Hey stranger," she said and watched the newspaper go down but she didn't see Joan Grande with her winning smile and her glasses on her head.

"Hey Mom, did you know that Concorde gets you here in half the time?" Emmi Brooks asked.

"Yes...I've...I've heard that." Ariana stammered, still in shock.

Avia went into the study after convincing herself that she was delusional and homesick to have heard her twin sister's voice in place of her grandmothers.
"What're you doing here?" she asked Emmi excitedly.

Emmi smiled, fighting the strong urge to run and hug her sister. "It took us around ten minutes after you guys left for us to realize that we don't want to lose you again." Emmi explained standing up.

"We?" Ariana was bewildered and she took a step toward her daughter whose gaze was somewhere else.

"We." Jai agreed stepping into the study and Ariana gasped sharply.

"I made a mistake of not coming after you once, Ari, I'm not gonna do that again - no matter how brave you are," he said and smiled.

Ariana felt her knees wobble as tears gathered in her eyes as she tried to maintain some semblance of sense into her head that was now being overridden by her heart.

"And I suppose you just expect me to go weak at the knees and fall into your arms and cry hysterically and say that we'll just figure this whole thing out - a bi-continental relationship with... our daughters being here and... and there and you and I... just picking up where we left off and growing old together and... and... c'mon Jai, what do you expect?" she looked up and was face to face with Jai. For every phrase she said, for she was stammering, he took a step closer to her flustered state as his smile grew with each word she uttered.

"...to live happily ever after?" Ariana blurted and Jai was now wiping away her tears with his thumbs as he cupped her face and looked it up to him.

"Yes... to all the above; except you don't have to cry hysterically," he quipped with a mischievous grin.

"Oh yes I do..." Ariana managed to end her sentence accompanied by a nod before Jai's lips were upon her and she kissed him back with all the longing she garnered through the years. Jai held her closer and deepened the kiss as Emmi and Avia watched.

"We actually did it!" Emmi said and slid down the corner feeling giddy while Avia sighed happily and fell back into a green wing-backed chair. She snuck into the hall a few minutes later and motioned for Emmi to follow.

Emmi tore her gaze away from her parents and also snuck into the hall, where her sister was practically jumping for joy and doing a happy dance.

"We did it! We did it!" Emmi exclaimed, jumping up and down excitedly with her sister. She didn't actually think it would work, even though it was her plan in the beginning.

"It's unbelievable." Avia beamed, pulling her sister in for an excited and congratulatory hug.

"OhmyGod, you guys are gonna love living in Melbourne.." Emmi exclaimed when she stopped jumping and pulled away from her sister.

Avia's face fell. "What do you mean.. Melbourne? You two are going to love living in New York." She argued, standing her ground.

"New York?!" Emmi's jaw dropped.

Fireworks lit up the night sky and aboard the Seabourn II, a couple was getting married. Jai and Ariana looked lovingly at one another before saying 'I do.' Everyone cheered as bride and groom danced the night away.

Zac and Miley watched from their table as Jai twirled Ariana in the middle of the dance floor. He nudged her and pointed at his nieces who were doing the secret handshake Frankie and Avia made while Joan watched them in amusement.

"Everyone got their happy ending." Miley remarked smiling.

"Oh but not all." Zac said and wiggled his eyebrows.

"What do you mean?" she asked and looked to see him on his knee holding out a black velvet box in front of her.

"My ending's not happy without you," he said seriously. The two were unaware that everyone had gone silent and were watching them.

"If I were to write an autobiography, you now have the pen for the final chapter. What do you say? Tragedy or comedy?" he asked her.

"How 'bout: 'and they lived happily ever after'?" Miley blurted and the two kissed amidst the cheering crowd.

"Zac, you are so sappy!" Ariana hissed in his ear after the congratulations and he just laughed. The party was in full swing again and everybody danced the night away.

It was really a place where dreams have no end...

I loved this story, so, so much. I'm so depressed that it's over. I'm so happy you guys enjoyed it. I'm probably going to post an Epilogue soon - as soon as I can think of one and write it lol! BUT tell me what you think and what you wanna see in it!

I have two other stories going - What We Keep Hidden and 9 Months. I will start another, I'm still not sure on the name though haha.

Remember the Tom Hanks movie, Castaway, where he's the only survivor of a plane crash and ends up on the desert island for years? Good. Now, imagine no Tom Hanks, no volley ball, not much angst, but a lot of Jariana. Now you've got it. I'll post the first chapter soon. ☺️ I hope you enjoyed this reading this story as much as I enjoyed writing it.
