The U.A. Sports Festival was coming up soon and everyone has been training their asses off, even Alex who's usually lazy. They've been going out to train almost every morning and before dinner. Alex invite Morgan to join them but she didn't get the hype. What was so special about some festivals?

"You're still not going out to train?" Duke asked as he walked past Morgan who was sitting on the couch with her feet propped up on the coffee table while watching television. She shrugged in response, causing Duke to give her a weird look. "This is going to be one of the biggest events that are going to happen in your life. You get to show the pro heroes how strong you are! You're not even going to put in a little effort?" He pressured, his voice strained.

"Flashing my powers isn't my scene." Morgan simply responded. This caused him to slam his fist onto the coffee table, it didn't scare her but she was confused by his actions.

"Damn it, Morgan! How?!" He shouted, "How is it possible that someone like you, someone who doesn't even put in the efforts of being a hero, get in U.A. so easily! At least Alex put in the efforts! It's not fair! I worked my ass off trying to get in that school and you got in with a letter of recommendation!"

She finally looked over to Duke, his face red with anger and frustration. His fist was clenched tightly as his teeth grounded together. She was hit with guilt when she realized how different they were. He removed his fist off the table to rub his face in frustration. "Forget it. Do what you want." He said and left the room.

Morgan turned her head back to face the tv once more, slumping down in her seat and lowering her gaze. Duke was right. How did someone like her get in but not him? It was all because of her quirk.

She didn't ask to be a be in U.A., she didn't even ask for her quirk. When it came to quirks, she was always jealous of her siblings. They got and mastered their quirks at a young age while Morgan got mine later than all the other kids, and here she was, still unstable with her quirk. She still get the pang of fear whenever she used her quirk, afraid that she will hurt someone.

Before her mind could go spiraling, Morgan's phone let out a 'ping' for a text notification. She grabbed her phone to check her texts.

Mina: HEYYY!!!!!!

Morgan: Please do not use all caps in text.

Mina: Sorry! >-<

Morgan: What do you want?

Mina: Train with me! :D

Morgan: No.

Mina: But why?!! The U.A. Sports Festival is coming up soon! :^(

Morgan: I'm not interested in training for the festival. Thanks for the offer anyway.

Mina: PLEASEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!

Morgan: Fine. Only if you stop using all caps. It's annoying.

Mina: Yay!! I'll send you the address! :3

Not a minute later, her phone goes off again and Mina had sent Morgan her location. Morgan sighed and got up to head to her room. Morgan stopped to stared at Duke's door for a while, contemplating if she should tell him that she was leaving. She shook her head and went to her room, not wanting to bother him more.

----------------------

It didn't take her very long until she reached the location Mina sent. "Morgan, you're here!" Mina cheered and engulfed her into a hug.

She stood there with her hands in the air, not sure where to put them. Morgan stood there a bit confused when she felt something pressing against her chest. She glanced down only for her eyes to meet a pair of cleavage. Her cheeks burn with shame and she quickly averted her eyes.

Mina finally pulled away with a bright grin that quickly turned into a confused frown. "Morgan, are you okay? Your face is red." She asked.

Morgan nodded and cleared her throat. "I ran here." She lied as she calmed herself down.

Luckily, she didn't question any further and grabbed Morgan's wrist to drag her along. "Okay, so I've been training right? But I need to do some combat so I know I'm ready!" She said enthusiastically then she turned towards her. "That's why I texted you so we can fight!"

Morgan gulped slightly, feeling the same pang of fear again. 'What if I hurt her on accident? What if my powers go out of control and burn the surroundings? What if she gets scared of my quirk and tells everyone in class about it. What if-'

Mina must have sensed something because she gently placed a hand on Morgan's shoulder, snapping her out of her trance. "Are you okay?" She asked.

Morgan nodded, "Yeah. Just a lot on my mind."

She stared at her a bit longer before pulling away to make some distance between them. "Alright, whoever can pin down the other person first wins," Mina stated and got into a fighting stance. Morgan got into a half-hearted stance and waited for her to give some sort of signal.

"Now!" She shouted as she shot acid toward her direction. Morgan quickly moved out of the way before running towards her. Her goal is to get through this without using her quirk, she couldn't  risk hurting someone else with them.

Mina began to fire acid bullets at her, making Morgan weave her way around them. "Come on, Morgan! Use that cool quirk of yours!" She said as she shot more acid.

As she sent a huge wave of grey acid toward her, Morgan was too busy trying to avoid to realize how close she's gotten. The wave of acid in front of her parted and there was Mina with her fist raised up and there was a victorious grin on her face as if she was about to give the final blow.

What Morgan didn't realize until she glance up was an even larger wave of acid, ready to come down on her. If she didn't know better, it was as if she was trying to drown Morgan in goddamn acid.

Almost like a reflex, she stuck her right hand up, her palm facing towards the sky as she shot a beam of fire, almost as if it was some kind of fire cannon. The flames roared as it shot up with such force. While Mina was in awe by Morgan's quirk, Morgan was too horrified. She watched as the flames burn through the acid as if it was nothing. The huge wave of acid was gone in seconds and Morgan tumbled back, landing on her bottom. She stared at her right palm, there was still a small flicker of flame remaining. It was as small as a candle flame, but it still scared her. She quickly clenched her right hand to extinguish it.

"That. Was. Epic!!!" Mina shouted and jumped up and down with excitement. "How did you do that?! That was so fucking awesome! You have to show me again!" Mina squealed.

Morgan couldn't show her that she was weak. She cleared her throat and replied, "Yeah. But maybe another time." Morgan was trying to stop her voice from shaking and stood up and dusted herself off.

Morgan flinched slightly when she felt Mina grab her left hand. She looked at her before looking down at their hands, their fingers intertwined. Morgan felt her cheeks heat up again. But something about having her hand in hers made her worries go away. Mina's hand was cold but it wasn't unpleasant.

"Well since I dragged you out here, I'll make it up to you. I'll take you to a place to eat some natto and okra!" She said with glee.

Morgan wasn't a picky eater but natto was something she disliked with a passion. When she was about to protest, she made eye contact with Mina and saw how much excitement her eyes had. She almost felt bad if she denied her offer.

Morgan finally let out a sigh and said, "Fine." She cheered, raising their hands in the air as she did. Morgan let a small smile slip onto her lips when Mina wasn't looking but quickly hid it when she looked back at her.

"Come on then!" Mina said as she marched along while Morgan followed willingly.
