I heard mumbling behind me as the girl began to regain consciousness. "Goodmorning" I greeted as I sat on a chair next to her bed. She sat up with a jolt and I almost jumped back. "W-what? Where am I?" she asked. "You are inside the Hellsing organization's headquarters" I answered and she turned to me. "W-who are you?" she asked me and I noticed that her fangs were also sharp like mine. With that, I could already imagine what had happened that night. I couldn't help but smile, he was kind.

"I'm Ellah Amorette and I'm also a vampire like you" I replied cheerily. "V-vampire?" she exclaimed.

"Yes, a vampire. Are you deaf, police girl?" a deep voice said and a tall figure came out of the walls. "So this is where you've been, Ellah. I have been looking all over for you" he said as he placed his hand on my exposed shoulder. I shivered at his touch, there was something on his mind and he was trying to hide it from me.

"I just wanted to be the first one to welcome her into the organization" I answered. He chuckled and dropped his hand. "What gives you the idea that she is staying?" he asked and I couldn't help but look at him. "Is that not why you turned her? I thought...you were recruiting her" I muttered to myself. He grabbed my chin and tipped my head up to look at him. "She chose her fate, dear. What she does from now on is none of my concern"

"I beg to differ" Sir Integra said as she stepped into the girl's room. "You turned her, she is your responsibility" she ordered and Alucard bit back a growl at his master. "And you, Ellah will help him" she said, smiling. I felt a warmth in my chest and I felt happy. She had finally given me something to do.

"Yes! Sir Integra" I said with a wide smile of my own. She chuckled and quietly left the room.

"Was wearing this dress really necessary? I felt ridiculous" I huffed as we walked back to our room after seeing Ms. Victoria. "It suits you. You look very beautiful" Alucard complimented and my cheeks flushed pink. My heart jumped at seeing his smile.

"T-thank you...but I think I scared her by suddenly telling her that she was a vampire" I said, looking at my feet in slight shame. "She may be a vampire but she isn't as magnificent as you" he said and I felt my cheeks heat up even more. He was being extra nice today. "You are acting very strange today. Did something happen?" I asked, looking up at the tall vampire next to me. He just smiled and kept quiet as we entered our room.

I changed into night clothes and brushed my hair before lying down inside the coffin. He soon followed and laid down next to me. I cupped his cheeks as the lid slowly descended on us. "Alucard, if there is something bothering you then you can tell me. Let me help you" I said and his smile shrank a little and he avoided my gaze. "Hey...look at me. What is a treasure's worth if it can't bring happiness to its owner?" I said and it made him look at me.

"Ellah...you are more valuable to me than any treasure. Never refer to yourself as an 'it' ".

"Then promise me that you will let me bring you happiness" he seemed hesitant and it made me feel sad then he took in a deep breath before staring me directly in the eyes. His red eyes glowing brightly as he smiled. "I promise" he said and my heart felt like it was floating and my stomach was filled with butterflies. I couldn't help the joy I felt. I kissed his forehead before hiding my face in his chest. Once I realized what I had done, I felt very embarrassed. He chuckled and wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me closer to him.

"Goodnight, Ellah"

"G-goodnight, Alucard"

I heard groaning in the darkness and my eyes shot open. My heart was racing but it calmed once I realised that I was no longer living in that scary cabin. I heard the groaning again and my eyes locked onto the face in front of me. The darkness did nothing to impaire my vision. I could see it clearly. Tears were rolling down Alucard's cheeks, tears of blood. His face scrunched up in suffering and his lips drew back into a snarl. He looked like he was having a nightmare.

I cupped his cheek and wiped the bloody tears away as I kissed his forehead then his cheek, ignoring the vampiric desire to lick his blood. I whispered calming words to him as I lifted my body higher so I could hug his head. I had never seen this happen to him and we have been sleeping in the same coffin for years now. I was very worried but I knew better than to wake up someone who was having a nightmare so I did all I could to try and change his nightmare into a dream.

I started to hum a little tune that always helped me to relax whenever I remembered all those days I spent trapped within a trunk. I had learned it from a kind japanese mage who happened to land in the garden one day. She kindly wrote it down for me and I have been singing it ever since. Now that I think about it, she did mention that it helped her husband sleep well and told me a very funny story of how she had to make him drink something to wake up. I hoped that I didn't have to do the same to Alucard but decided that it was worth the risk. He was suffering and I promised to help him.

I sang the whole song as I stroked his hair. He tightened his grip around me and growled but eventually calmed as I sang the song a little louder. I sighed with relief as his face returned to normal and his breathing became steady but his grip never faltered. The last thing I remembered before falling asleep was seeing his smile and it gave me wonderful dreams.
