sun goes down
the moon rises
darkness envelopes me

my dark blanket
greets me with
open arms

seeking comfort in what it provides
my forever home

always there for me
never a frown
my forever home

through hell or high waters
the darkness in which I can rely on
others not so much

with its billion sparkling eyes
always watching over me
my beautiful protector

knowing I'll be up there one day
its sparkle shining down on me
I smile

one day
I'll have the honor to be with you
my mysterious friend

amongst the stars
we will join them
you and I able to meet
at last my twin
