Frankie

The week went by quick. Every day after school since Monday, we would go to my house to practice. And I feel like now, we are so prepared for our performance today. Originally, there was meant to be loads of moving around, but because of me, that part had been cut out.

The morning of the performance, we all went to Jade's because she did hair and makeup, and she had the most makeup out of all of us. Then we went to Perrie's, cause last night, after practice, we went to each others outfits to get clothes, and Perrie kept them at her place. So basically we were roaming the area in pyjamas. Then we went to mine to ran the song over again.

We added a little twist to it, just to make it sound like our own song, even though it wasn't. We weren't meant to write our own song this week. Mrs. Hardwood says this week, just a cover.

The Adidas sweat shirt I'm wearing right now is so cute. It's always been in my wardrobe but I never wore it. And I guess it's the magic of the new year, I'm getting good luck. 2014 has already been my lucky year.

In fact we're all wearing sweatshirts. Jessie's wearing a black one which says 23 Jordan on it, Perrie's is just a plain red one, Jade's is a plain black one, Leigh-Anne's is a black one that says 'Rich Fashion Advisory Explicit Content'  and mine is my very lovely stone washed Adidas sweatshirt.

"Next up is Blonde Electra." Mrs. Hardwood announced. Two blonde girls, one with long hair, the other with short hair, stood up.

So far, four groups have gone up. They were all so good. I'm suddenly worried about our song choice, because all these acts are so good.

The first group covered 'Viva Forever' by Spice Girls.

The second group covered 'Never Say Never' by The Fray.

The third group covered 'Young and Beautiful' by Lana Del Rey.

The fourth group covered 'Beautiful' by Mariah Carey and Miguel.

And now Blonde Electra is singing some song that I don't know, but it's really good.

Now I'm very fucking worried.

I looked to Perrie with a very worried look on my face.

'Fuck' I mouthed to her.

"I know right' She mouthed back.

I turned back to look at Blonde Electra. They are so good. Out of habit, I started biting my nails, and my phone buzzed which means I got a new text. When the teacher wasn't looking, I whipped it out, and read the text.

FROM: ZAYNNN<3<3<3

You'll do fine, don't worry.

I put my phone away quickly, and looked to my right where Zayn was sitting, and saw he was looking right at me. I smiled at him and mouthed 'Thanks.' to him. He gave me a small nod.

Then the class started clapping, I turned my head to the stage and saw that Blonde Electra was done.

"Little Mix'' Mrs. Hardwood announced next.

My heart thumped once. Like that feeling you get when someone suddenly says your name. In shock, your heart just immediately thumps. That's how I feel right now.

I slowly stood up and I saw from the corner of my eye that Jade was giving a CD which had our instrumental that we made on it to the teacher. He gave her a thumbs up and she walked back to the medium sized stage. We stood in our positions and waited for the music que.

Then I heard the faint drum.

(Side Song)

All together:

W-o-r-d we're coming up.                                                                               K-k-k-k-keep it keep it coming up                                                                 So do your dance do your dance do your dance quick, mama               Come on, baby tell me what's the word OW!

Woo!
Ah-hey!
Word up!
C'mon, c'mon! Woo!

PERRIE:

Yo pretty ladies around the world
Got a weird thing to show you
So tell all the boys and girls
Tell your brother, your sister and your mama, too
'Cause we're about to throw down
And you know just what to do

(So Frankie's just gonna steal Jade's part. K? K.) FRANKIE:

Wave your hands in the air
Like you don't care
Glide by the people
As they start to look and stare
Do your dance
Do your dance
Do your dance quick, mama
Come on, baby tell me what's the word

ALL TOGETHER:

Word up
Everybody say
When you hear the call
You've got to get it underway
Word up
It's the code word
No matter where you say it
You know that you'll be heard

LEIGH:

All you sucker DJs
Who think you're fly
There's got to be a reason
And we know the reason why
You try to put on those airs
And act real cool (you ain't cool!)
But you've got to realize
That you're acting like fools

JESY:

Give us music
We can use it
We need to dance
We don't have the time
For psychological romance
No romance
No romance
No romance for me, mama
Come on, baby
Tell me what's the word

ALL TOGETHER:

Word up
Everybody say
When you hear the call
You've got to get it underway
Word up
It's the code word
No matter where you say it
You know that you'll be heard

W-O-R-D up
W-O-R-D up
W-O-R-D up (Everybody say)
W-O-R-D up

JADE:

W-O-R-D we're coming up
Dial "L" for low
K-k-k-keep it keep it coming up
So do your dance do your dance do your dance quick, mama
Come on, baby tell me what's the word
Word up
Yeah, yeah yeah yeah yeah
Word up
Word up
Hey, hey

ALL TOGETHER:

Word up
Everybody say
When you hear the call
You've got to get it underway, get it underway
Word up
It's the code word
No matter where you say it
You know that you'll be heard

Word up
Everybody say
When you hear the call
You've got to get it underway
Word up
It's the code word
No matter where you say it
You know that you'll be heard, yeah

When we sang the last key, I took a deep breathe. Now I feel relieved. The nerves have just dried up. I smiled as the whole class clapped. Even Zayn and the boys, and they did not clap for the other 5 bands before. Woah.

When I made eye contact with him, he gave me a wink and a smirk, and I couldn't help the blush that crept down my neck.

"Okay, class, that was fantastic. I liked all of your performances. Next assignment. Now you can write your first song together as a group. Due next class." Mrs. Hardwood said once every one was done.

What the fuck? How do we have just the weekend to put together a song. Covering a song was hard enough.

The bell rang, which means lunch time. I grabbed my crutches and rised slowly again.

"You guys were really good." Some random girl said walking past me.

"Um.. Thanks, so were you." I told her. She smiled at me, and I gave her an awkward smile back.

Maybe, this really was my lucky year.
