I saw you in a strange, crowded place

Your eyes met mine for a fleeting moment,

Noting me as nothing more than another face,

But in you, I found my missing component

I tried my best not to stare too long

The nose ring, the curls, the wings on your eyes,

The way you carried yourself as if nothing were wrong,

I was completely taken by surprise

I fiddled with my fingers and tried to play it cool,

Hoping that, maybe, you might notice me,

I probably made myself look like a fool

But I wanted nothing more than to be in your company

You didn't see me of course, just continued on your way

Not that I was expecting you to, not quite,

It was more of a fairytale wish for you to stay,

To satisfy my childish dream of "love at first sight"
