mark woke up at around three in the morning.

he was starving, but had no type of food in his apartment whatsoever. he had just moved in, and hadn't done anything other than bring in some furniture.

the boy tried just sleeping the hunger off again, yet this time it didn't work. mark huffed, getting up and throwing a big jacket over his body before exiting the building, heading out to the corner store open all day a few blocks away from the building complex. mark walked the dark and deserted streets wallowed in his thoughts.

yes, being in korea was great and everything, but he just felt really lonely. his parents were still living in canada, and he really had no other family close to him other than johnny and jaehyun who were currently studying abroad together. his apartment had been completely paid for by his parents, who had a great deal of wealth and had sent mark to korea for better university opportunities. of course he was grateful; mark's parents had educated him well and gave him everything he wanted. he had every little thing he desired, but still felt like something was missing. his apartment was always silent and cold, he felt it was way too big for just one person yet his parents wanted him to have a spacious place. he wasn't sure how he would mend that part of him that was dull and sad, but he always got to thinking of it at night when the sun went down and everything was dark.

maybe that's why he got so attached to donghyuck's son.

minki was such an adorable and sweet little boy. he remembered the baby walking up to him and offering him an animal cookie from the snacks the teachers had passed out. it was shaped like a lion, to which he noticed that it looked just like mark. the baby was astounded, and from that moment on he called mark by 'mister lion'. the entire time mark was there, minki followed him around. he didn't want to be with the other kids, unless mark was there with him. when it was time for the kids to sleep, minki wouldn't do it unless mark was physically holding him. why minki was acting this way with him, mark didn't know. but, the baby truthfully made him feel so much better. it felt almost like that part of him that was always gloomy and dark disappeared once he was with minki.

mark rubbed his eyes as he entered the brightly lit corner store, keeping his blurry-ish gaze on the floor as he went and picked up some of his favorite ramen. he ended up taking several packs while he was at it, so they would last up until the next week incase he got hungry like this again at night. mark walked up to pay pretty much half-asleep, rubbing his eyes once more and placing the items on the stand. he took his wallet out, looked up, and suddenly the sleepiness he felt entirely diminished.

at the cash register stood donghyuck, who wasn't looking back at him at all, and began ringing up his packets of ramen.

"hey.." mark tried to lighten the thick and heavy tension that had been created between the two in the deserted store, but to no avail. donghyuck didn't respond, and definitely didn't give him not even a glance in return. mark noticed this, and sighed silently to himself. he really hated how the boy was acting around him now, even though he promised to keep his secret. mark waited another while, keeping his gaze on the boy and taking some time to admire his features. he looked his pretty skin, full lips, button nose, and fluffy head of hair.
