Turning 18 is probably the biggest and important celebration for girls that needed such a grand party, because it's just not a simple birthday but because turning 18 means being matured, transitioning from a girl to a lady that is now ready to face the world and act on their own without their parent's say. Usually people would throw a grand party at times like this, but never me.

Right now I'm with my family in Miami having our dinner date in a fine dinning restaurant, I was given a day off since it's my birthday and was given the privilege to head home to spend the day with my family. I never really liked huge celebrations because I think it's just a waste of time and money, we don't have that much people to invite if ever we do prepare a simple celebration since our relatives are back there in Cuba so there's no use.

"Happy birthday Baby C!" That was the message I received from Taylor Swift, my all time idol and now my best friend as I was having dinner with my family.

It's an early dinner actually since Sofi got super hungry as well as I, mom and dad were both surprised at our sudden starving time since we've also had a heavy lunch earlier. Mom and dad are what I really treasure as of now, Sofi is also my sweetheart and I swear I don't need any great celebrations just like what other 18 years old girl would want. I just need to be with my family, just knowing that we all are safe and complete is already a party for me.

"Omg! Thank you so much Tay! I love you!" I messenged her back, I had just finished having dinner while Sofia is still busy munching on her favorite mashed potatoes.

"What are you gonna do for you birthday? Are you gonna have a party?" Another message coming from her made me stop having conversations with my parents, they seem to enjoy talking about radom stuffs and so I just focused on Taylor for a while.

"No, I'm just with my family having dinner"

A simple celebration like this really makes me feel contented, I really don't need to have parties like heading to the bar and etc. Just being happy matters more to me and that is my own gift to myself today...

"Oh well you can't do nothing for your birthday. Come over to my house!"

I refused to go so many times, rejecting her offer since I might only be a burden to her, when I don't reply to her texts anymore she started calling me non stop and so my parents forced me to come to her house. It was a few minutes drive since she has a house near Miami, dad offered to send me and fetch me when the time comes as he'll just look over the neighborhood Taylor has.

By the time I arrived there my jaw literally opened, there were lights everywhere plus there are so many people who were with Taylor. Hailee Steinfeld, Selena Gomez Jaime King, Hayley Williams Alexander DeLeon, Este Haim, Danielle Haima and Alana Haim were all present as they greeted me each a happy birthday. Some cakes and gifts were also scattered everywhere, it was half a mess but I couldn't be more thankful for having some of our mutual friends. It was a small celebration but it felt like grand to me since it was so beautiful, the lights that decorated the whole house made it appear like we are in a magical world, one thing that I will always remember.
