chapter 8

kamora nodded her head to the music that was blasting through her headphones. she was currently walking to ridge berg corner so she could be picked up.

thinking back to last night she thanked her lucky stars that her mother nor her sister had woke up last night. while she was happy she made it inside okay, it was weighting heavily on her mind about how she abruptly left Gael like she did. even after he was kind enough to drop her off last night. while texting him made her feel a little better,

it didn't completely take the guilt off her shoulders.

as she continue walking she came up on the corner where she found Gael's truck with Gael leaning against it. she came to a stop in front of him pulling a headphone from one ear.

"good morning princess."

kamora blushed at the nickname.

"what are you doing here?" she asked him confusion written all over her face.

"I said I was coming to get you so here I am, by the way here's your breakfast."

he told her holding up a bag.

"I told you one of the girls was coming to get me, so thank you but no thank I'll just sit and wait for one of them." kamora told him firmly

Gael gave kamora a stern look that had her squirming

"I was not asking you babygirl so get in this car before we give this whole block a scene to remember." Gael told her opening the passenger door.

kamora bit her lip weighting her options, she knew no matter what Gael was gonna get her in his car whether on her own free will or by force. so letting out a sign she made her way into his car.

Gael shuts her door with a smile on his face and goes around to get in himself.

"so why were you so worried about waking your family last night."

kamora stopped mid chew into the breakfast burrito that Gael had bought her, getting her thoughts together she shallowed the food in her mouth.

"no reason." she horribly lied

Gael took one of his large hands off the wheel and put it on her thigh giving it a squeeze.

"I know your lying but I won't force it out of you." he told her glancing at her for a second. kamora let out a small sign just being glad that he was letting go of it for now.

pulling into a parking spot he cuts the engine, he gets out and walks around to her side all the while everybody who was standing outside was starring at him.

he opened the door for her grabbing her hand he helped her out. she felt eyes on her, grabbing her hand into his big one they start making their way towards the school.

as they walked she could hear everyone whispering about them, making her feel small.

"keep your head up your tiara is falling." Gael told her lifting her head up by her chin.

kamora blushes burring her face into Gael chest taking in the nice cologne he had on. so together, hand in hand they make their way into school and to their first period.

kamora sat at her normal lunch table, book in hand waiting for her friends to arrive and come join her for lunch. she was enjoying a nice green apple she packed in her lunch today when two lunch trays lammed on the table making her jump and look up from her book she was reading.

"so why did I have to hear from Tabitha O'Hare that my bestfriend rode in with the irish jerk today." Caroline semi shouts at her trying to get her point across to kamora while trying not to draw to much attention to them.

kamora sets her book down completely.

"and you didn't text to say he came to get you I was almost late to school waiting for you to show up at the corner." Marisol stated angrily

kamora went to speak but was cut off by Caroline.

"you know how he made me feel and your out here getting rides from him."

kamora went to talk again but was this time cut off by Marisol.

"yea what happen to gals before pals."

both girls continue to berate kamora as tears filled her eyes, they weren't letting her defend herself.

packing up her stuff she got up

"you talk about friendship but your sitting here berating me for talking to a guy that YOU have a problem with not me. your no better than my mother and sister." she told them snatching up her lunch bag and book leaving her two friends shocked

walking down the hallway, she wipes the tears from her face. not looking where she's going she bumps into somebody.

"oh kamora just the girl I'm looking for." she heard the voice of her sister Isadora.

"I've heard you been hanging around Gael and let me tell you something." she started backing kamora against the locker as her sister's minions block her exits

"Gael deserves to be with someone like me, I mean let's face it I'm so much better looking than you. you think he actually wanted a fat nobody like you." Isadora said as she laughed, her minions laughing with her like it's the funniest thing in the world.

"steer clear of him, that's your only warning."

Isadora said with a last glance. turning on her heel she walked away, her minions following behind her.

kamora sild down the lockers as more tears sild down her face. she didn't understand why this was happening to her.

it's been three weeks.

three weeks of not talking to her friends

three weeks of walking to school

and three weeks of avoiding Gael.

kamora was not taking it well and neither has Gael, who spent everyday trying to get kamora to talk to him. but for the last two days Gael hasn't been at school and kamora couldn't help but worry.

on the third day of his absence she finally broke down and texted him during first period.

where are you, you've been gone for three days now are you okay.

he responded not even a second later

oh so you do know I existed

kamora couldn't lie that did sting a bit but she deserved it

look somethings came up and I got busy

somethings like Isadora, yea I know what happened

kamora was shocked she didn't understand how he found out. she was snapped out her thoughts when her phone buzzed from another text.

anyways I've been sick but it's nice to know you care about me kitten.

kamora went to respond when she heard someone clear their throats. looking up she turns to see her teacher.

"and who are you texting that is so important that you must text them during my class Ms. Lee."

kamora gave him a sheepish look before responding.

"Gael."

"ah mr.muriso well since your in contact with him, take him his school work after school." he told her handing her a few stacks of papers.

nodding her head she waits for her teacher to start teaching again before quickly texting Gael again.

I'm coming over with your school work today, I'll be by after school

she got a text from Gael telling her okay followed by his address and that the front door will be open by the time she gets there.

she puts up her phone away with a sign. she was a little nervous she hasn't seen Gael in three weeks.

she couldn't help but feel excite about seeing him later today
