Cupid💘💘💘

A life changing event happens in the twinkling of an eye. I sat in my room knitting my cardigan in preparation for the cold season. I didn't want to be caught unawares, as I dreaded the cold. My mum called from downstairs, "Jane, come and meet your uncle." Uncle John, my dad's younger brother, had just returned from college in the United States. I was so happy I'd finally meet the person who had been sending me toys.

I ran downstairs with excitement and saw the masculine figure in front of me. He was about 6' 2 ft tall. The gyms really did a great job on him. He had chiseled jaws and dark brown eyes. Need I say that he was more handsome than the pictures of him I saw in my mum's phone. He bent over and picked me up. I was about seven years old. "Hello niece, the last time I saw you was when you were just a baby. You have grown so big," he said, smiling.

I struggled to let go as I wasn't used to being carried by anyone. "Welcome home, Uncle John. Thank you for all the toys you sent," I said. I was shy but still struggled to smile. "Uncle John will be staying over until he gets his apartment," Mum said. I was glad to have someone to talk to when mum goes to work with my baby brother. School was on holiday and I had all the time in the world to play. I happily led Uncle John to the room we had prepared for him.

Dad already announced that Uncle John would be coming, so we made efforts to make sure that his room was conducive enough for him to stay. The room was painted blue with pictures of football stars on the wall. Dad decorated the room with the pictures because Uncle John loves football a lot. The room looked so manly. Uncle John smiled when he entered the room. He was happy with what he saw and said it was just perfect. Tired, he fell on the bed immediately. "Thank you, Jane," he said to me, smiling.

"Dinner will be served by 7 p.m. I hope you'll eat with us," I smiled and said. I just wanted to have him around. "I'd be down by 7 p.m. and I'll give you everything I bought for you," he replied, while pulling off his shirt. I quickly left the room as it was bad manners to stand there and watch him undress. I went to my room, which was opposite his room, and continued knitting.
