I knew I heard God and I knew why I had to go through all that I went through. I went to church the next day with an open heart, ready to let go of everything and lay them at the feet of Christ. During the service, the choir sang a song that changed my life forever. The song was titled, "In Christ Alone."
These lines from the song changed my life:
No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand.
As the choir continued with the song, I burst into tears. I sensed the Holy Spirit telling me to let go and right there I forgave my uncle, my teacher, Paul and everyone who caused me pain. Finally, I forgave myself and declared, "No guilt in life, no fear in death. God wrote my story. He commanded it. My hope is found and here I stand, a conqueror!"
And to my readers, I want you to know that all these events taught me to trust God all the way. God knows everything you are going through––all you have to do is surrender yourself to Him and allow Him to give your story a perfect ending. He knows how to weave all the good, the bad and the ugly experiences of your life into a colourful tapestry that will reflect His glory. Would you trust Him today?
