Y/n pov:

*6:30 am*

Argh. I hate early mornings. I'm expecting Ruel to climb through my window any second now. Yup. Little ripple in the curtain followed by the bang of my guitar on the ground

y/n: very subtle
Ruel: you think so?
y/n: no dip shit. Come here

He run up and jumped on my bed landing with a thud. He pushed the blankets down and pulled me in for a hug, then kissed me on the forehead. The warmth of his body made my heart beat uneven

Ruel: I'm gonna marry you one day I swear
y/n: yeah?
Ruel: yeah
y/n: before we GeT mArRiEd I need to get changed. My phones right there, entertain yourself
Ruel: you do realise we're just going to the studio! You don't need to be fancy!
y/n: I don't care!

It was too late anyway. I was already halfway through putting my shoes on. As I walked out into my bathroom I heard Ruel on call to Bodhi

*phone call*

Ruel: Nah I'm taking her into the studio
Bodhi: """
Ruel: I will ask her now, but she might not want to

Ruel: hey y/n
y/n: yeah?
Ruel: Bodhi and the boys are going bowling later and they wanted to know if we could go?
y/n: that sounds good. Tell him yeah
Ruel: cool!

Ruel: yeah Bodhi, we will be there at 8 on the dot
Bodhi: """
Ruel: alright man, cya

****

y/n: so how long will we be at the studio?
Ruel: how ever long it takes you to write a song
y/n: what?
Ruel: oh yeah. Your recording a song or two. Maybe three
y/n: Ruel! You don't know how many songs ready I have!
Ruel: well let's go then
y/n: Keiran is driving us on the way to his girlfriends
Ruel: Keiran with a girlfriend?! That's different

We started walking down stairs

Keiran: I heard that shit head
Ruel: what are you gonna do about it Keiran?
Keiran: I will still kick your ass Van Dijk

I rolled my eyes at them both and threw the keys at Keiran. We got in the car, Ruel in front with Kozz and me in the back, and drove out down the driveway. Ruel put his music on and rolled down the windows.

We pulled up to a set of tragic lights next to a convertible full of Ruel's fans. He grabbed the sunglasses that were in the glove box and out them on doing a little dance along to the music, while the bunch of girls filmed. Why is he like this?

Ruel pov:

I always climbed through the window. It was an easy way to get to her, instead of having to go through the front door I just walked across the "floorboards" that we put in the tree. My landing wasn't the smoothest and I knocked down her guitar, but quickly picked it up like nothing happened.

y/n: very subtle
Ruel: you think so?
y/n: no dip shit. Come here

She was lying in bed half asleep still, so I ran and jumped on the bed. I pulled her close to my chest and kissed her on the forehead. Butterflies formed in my stomach and I couldn't stop my mouth from blurting it out

Ruel: I'm gonna marry you one day I swear
y/n: yeah?
Ruel: yeah

I wanted to take it back but I couldn't. Something deep inside me told me it was the right thing to say. While she was getting changed Bodhi asked to go bowling later, we both said yes but I didn't really want to go. I honestly just wanted to spend the night with her.

We got in the car and drove off to the studio where we met my manager Nate and my producer M-Phazes (mark). I could tell Y/n was scared to record, but she had no reason to.

Mark: alright. You jump in there, put your headphones on and get a feel for it
y/n: alright

She walked up to the microphone and put her headphones on

Mark: Ruel, just go in there with her, she seems a bit nervous
Ruel: okay
Nate: hey Ruel, she's gonna do fine stop stressing

I went in there with her and explained how everything worked. We went through some vocal warm ups together and then let Nate and Mark know she was ready

Mark: okay, so we are just gonna do a few covers first to see how you go. Then when and if you ready, we can do an original. You good to go?
y/n: yep
Ruel: what song do you want?
y/n: you choose cause I got no clue
Ruel: hmm, alright. Lay Me Down, Sam Smith?
Mark: we can do that
y/n: yeah ok
Ruel: I'm right here, your gonna do great

I grabbed her hand and held it softly letting her know I was there. The music started, but she didn't. It took her a second to get going but once she did, she was amazing. Half way through the song, I went back out to sit with Nate and listen to her.

Nate: how long has she been singing?
Ruel: since she could talk
Mark: she's incredible!
Nate: she's definitely got talent

They were right. I mean, we sing together all the time in my room. But I had never heard her in the studio with a mic. I was speechless
