Y/n pov:

As a child my parents always said that I was gifted. I'm definitely not. Now, growing up as a young girl on a farm, you tend to learn a lot of things. By the time I was 5, I could change the bolts on an engine faster then you can say "child prodigy"

My dad loves cars, mainly old restored ones. When we moved into the city he had to sell most of his old cars. That was tough for him. He managed to convince mum to keep his 2 baby's. The 1965 V8 Mustang, and the 1969 Chevrolet SS Camaro. Keiran and Jax were instantly given the cars when they got their licence, but Jax never learnt how to drive a stick. So he got down graded to a Lexus. Poor Jax.

I was a fast learner and had been driving Kozz's manual since I was 14. Just up and down the street mainly or picking drunk Keiran up from around the corner. I turned 16 and went my L's, almost instantly gaining them. We knew basically the whole police department in Bondi end they knew how well a driver dad was, so they aloud me to go y/n my p plates way too early, only 3 months after driving my L's. So, after coming back from a driving lesson dad pulled the whole family and I out to the garage.

Dad: so Ive been thinking, and you know what your doing. Just got your p plates, a lot faster and safer then both your brothers did
Jax: no, that pedestrian didn't have the right of way. Should have stopped
Keiran: not my fault a fuckin seagull flew out in front of me. Dumb ass
Dad: well still, she did it without any mistakes or issues. So I think the Camaro is a well deserved car

Dad headed me the key and I gave him and mum a hug. I had been in it before but wasn't aloud to drive it, so I sat in it and adjusted the seat

Keiran: eheh muscle gang

He came over and we did our little hand shake

Mum: be careful, do you want your dad or one do the boys to go with you?
y/n: no mum I'll be fine. I might get Ruel. Show him my new whip
Dad: he's gonna shit his pants
Jax: what does he drive again
y/n: a Nissan Micra

We all laughed at the thought of a 6'4 kid in such a tiny car.

Dad: alright, nothing else for us to say, get going. And be safe
y/n: yes dad

I started it and drove up and out of our drive way. I pulled up just out front of Ruel's house, he just so happened to be playing basketball out the front. I gave it a bit of a rev and watched him jump half way in the air.

y/n: let's go
Ruel: that's your car?
y/n: yep, got my p's today
Ruel: your only 16 how?
y/n: get in the car and I will explain on the way
Ruel: on the way where?

He got in and closed the door

y/n: uh Bodhi's party dumb ass
Ruel: oh yeah

I explained to him that they let me got on my p plates early I'm hopes that I would be responsible. As always I am and will be. When we got to the party everyone was staring. And when I stay staring I mean looking at me like "how the hell can a girl like that, drive a car like that"

Ruel pov:

It was a nice car and suited her personality well, but I knew other people wouldn't see it. When we rocked up to Bodhi's, all the girls were giving her really judgy looks, and the boys. Well they just thought it was a nice car. Walking down the driveway the girls were whispering about it

Random girl: no wonder she's single. Driving a car like that, all the boys would be scared.

That pissed me off. There was no reason a girl can't drive a car like that. Everyone is so sexist these days. I could tell she didn't like it either and that it made her upset.

Bodhi: as always Lee arrives in still
y/n: aha your the only one that thinks so
Bodhi: those girls are just jealous. They wish they looked as hot as you do right now
y/n: thanks, I guess?
Bodhi: I've gotta go help mum bring food out and everything, but I'll see ya later yeah?
y/n: yeah sure
Bodhi: hey make yourself comfortable, you know Jade, Amber and Courtney

We both turned around to see a small group of girls sitting on a the couch. They looked like assholes

Ruel: I'm gonna go get you a drink, I'll be right back
y/n: Okay thank you

The drinks table was a fair distance away but the music was quite enough for me to hear their conversation

Jade: so you and Ruel Van Dijk hey?
y/n: oh no, we're just friends
Courntney: yeah that's what they all say
Amber: so you drive that lump of shit metal car?
y/n: uh yeah, it's not a lump of shit but sure
Courntney: oh no sweetie it's a lump of shit alright
Jade: you shouldn't drive that
y/n: why not?
Jade: it's not a good look for a girl like you to be driving such a manly car

I walked back over there to "save" her

Ruel: I think it's a great car. Real badass
Jade: oh my gosh I know, I want the same one for my birthday
y/n: it's a man car

She laughed and walked grabbed my and on her way to the dancefloor. For hours she danced and sang without a care in the word. Watching her dance made me realise how lucky I am to have her, how much I love her.
