SugarMelon: Miss me Memphis (fluff)

Melon had been gone for 3 weeks. 3 whole weeks and Sugar was alone, he missed his sweet Melon, missed the way he talked to him, missed their cuddles, their kisses, laughs, conversations and coffee. Only thinking of this made his heart descend lower until it felt like it was in a ditch.

In the depths of the ocean.

In all honesty, he felt broken. Lost, without him.
Sugar knew he was coming back but it was arduous to be alone for so long. He knew there were other people to chat to in this town they'd moved to, everyone was so pleasant, however, Sugar was shy and couldn't uphold a conversation with a stranger. At all.
There were other skeletons to talk to, monsters he knew. They would only ever come into town to buy supplies or stockfeed, possibly on the odd occasion lunch or maybe even an animal or two.  Most of the skeletons that did live on the surface lived on farms or out of towns.
Reaper, Geno, Classic, Fell and the UnderSwap Brothers were the only ones that actually bothered to travel 37 or so kilometres to the most neighbouring town of Twizel. All the rest of them (that was basically all of them) settled to the mountains and forest margins laden with animals and land. The majority were sheep farmers, some having cows or even deer. Others settled to flats, closer to town but still out of it.

Just how they made their livings, Sugar would never know. He didn't want to dissipate his energy finding out either.
He just sat on the couch, stroking their dog, Lemon, who had decided to rest it's small, fuzzy head on the tallers lap. The dog itself was tiny. Small enough to fit inside a teacup, hence the breed name, Teacup Pomeranian. She had a fluffy body, silky fur, puppy eyes and a teddy bear face which resembles the looks of a teddy bear toy. Her fur was an orangey-yellow sort of colour, which looked like a lemon.
She was adorable and Melon loved her to death.

Melon.

Sugar couldn't stop thinking about him.
He was all the way in Memphis, on the other facet of the world. For the life of him, he couldn't remember what for. At the back of his mind, the reason lingered. All he had to do was coax it out...

Now he remembered. One of Melons old friends, Viv, a middle-aged woman who Melon had met back in High School, had offered to take him as a holiday, considering she had an extra ticket after her airline accidentally gave her two tickets just because she seemed and clothed like she was wedded so they just assumed she was married. Some people didn't have common sense.

Guess it's just not that common anymore.

Sugar just couldn't wait for Melon to walk in that door and hug him as always. He kept Sugar updated, periodically about all his adventures so it wouldn't seem like he was being left out. Of course, he still felt that way.

After a few more moments a knock came at the door, Sugar jumped to answer it, hoping to see Melon in the doorway but he saw Geno and Reaper there alternatively.
"Hi, Sugar!" Geno said cheerfully. "Reaper and I were just passing by and wanted to come and have a chat with you if that's okay"
"That is the worst possible way to say 'we came here because you're fucking lonely' Geno" Reaper piped up from following the smaller.
"Shut up Reaper!" Geno snapped, making Sugar giggle.
"Yeah sure, of course, you two can come for a convo" Sugar chuckled. "Got nothing better to do anyway"
"Sweet!" Geno seemed vigorous. He wasn't usually, taking into account he'd been in and out of hospital with repetitious health problems, his plight wasn't quite over yet and the secondary eldest skeleton in town refused to let himself believe it was. He was now over 500 years old, Reaper presumably a couple billion, and he wasn't quite ready to die yet although the universe keeps striving to kill him, to no avail.
Even Reaper himself says he can't kill him, due to the fact Geno:
1- Refuses to give up his soul
and 2- Doesn't die when Reaper touches him, contrary to everything else.
Sugar found this quite amusing, Geno being the only living thing in the entire world Reaper cannot halt. Not even his eighth of a soul would slow him down.

The other skeleton stepped aside to let the other two in, Geno was first inside, immediately stroking the teddy bear-like animal seated on the floor. Reaper however didn't dare touch her out of the fear he would drain her life force. He definitely didn't want that, Sugar would kill him.
If he could.

After the pair seated themselves at the kitchen table, Sugar strolled over to them with some cups of coffee for each of them. They gratefully took these from Sugar, as he sat down too.
"Alright," Geno started. "The most recent visit to the hospital had to be the most hilarious one yet!"
"Why? What happened?" Sugar asked with interest.
"So I went in for my checkup, I hadn't had one for 3 months and when I walked in the receptionist straight up said 'Oh thank God you're here, I honestly thought you were dead!" He chuckled a little. "Has to be the wackiest thing I've heard from a doctor in a very long time apart from 17 years ago when one of them swore because she was so astounded I was pregnant with Goth!"
The taller nearly spat out his drink snorting at the memory but thankfully saved himself. "She was just like 'what the fuck is going on here?" He spoke. "It was hilarious"
"We had to explain how it worked and she had that look on her face that looked like all her medical training was a lie" Geno laughed.
"M-melon and I haven't had kids yet..." Sugar said quietly.
"Word of advice" Reaper piped up. "Don't. It's years of lost sleep and deprivation. We love Goth but god it was hard to raise him!"
"Advice taken" Sugar declared.

All conversation and laughter ceased when the door opened.
Melon was home. He greeted the dog warmly, placing his bags by the doorway.
The smaller didn't even have time to say hello to the minuscule pack of skeletons before Sugar scooped him up happily and kissed him, laughing when Melon was put back down again.
"Melon! Oh, how I've missed you!"
"I've missed you too Sugar," He said with a slight chuckle.

They had a cuddle for a few minutes before Sugar took him over to the table.
"Sit down babe~" He said "We've got a lot to talk about"
