“Adios My Fake Lover”
I should have known your intention is a sham
I wouldn’t have felt so damned
My tears fall like a deluge of vitriolic rush
My unsuspecting heart utterly crushed
I should have known through your deceit
Never know that your sweet smile is counterfeit
Beneath your loving eyes is a basilisk stare
I should have seen through it before being lured by its glare
I should have known that your words are deceptive
Before surrendering my heart like a hopeless captive
Within my heart, is an irreparable hole
Now, I am crying like a fool
Oh, the agony
Damn, it is killing me
But before I succumb to the pain
I have to say this eventhough I have nothing to gain:
Adios, my fake lover
I know I should not bother
But I don’t want to be the one who has nothing to say
Before you go away
I can’t let you extinguish the remnants of my pride
By giving you the satisfaction of leaving me affected
You won’t leave without seeing my chin held high
Despite that it is to me an act-- a lie
Adios, my fake lover
Thank you for letting me believe that forever
Is nothing but a word in fiction
Adios, fake lover
I will not let you see that for you I cried a river
I will smile even if inside I feel constricted
My breathing seemed restricted
I’ll pretend that your desertion meant nothing
I will go on living
Like the way I used to be
Before you came to me
Thus, I have to say,
Adios, My Fake Lover
