This is the closest thing I could find that looks like Aegis. Just imagine him as an elf with a maul and armour.
Hope you enjoy this chapter!
Iro didn't open his eyes when he regained consciousness. Wraiths would have killed him instantly so it wasn't them who attacked him in the chamber. But then...who could it be?
"What are we going to do with it?" a rough voice asked.
It?!
"I don't know," another voice replied, this one was from an older female. "It should've changed back by now. Unless it's one of those evolved ones. Then it could keep that form indefinitely for all we know."
"Is...there a chance that...it is actually hi-?" this voice was of a younger male. Maybe in his twenties? But Iro didn't recognise it.
"I know it's not him!" a familiar voice snapped. But where had Iro heard it before? "He would never have come down here without his armour. He would have been on his guard. And he would have torn those two Forest Wraiths apart with his bare hands."
There was a pause before the familiar voice spoke again. "The only this that is even remotely like him is its appearance and its ability to fake sleep."
Oh no! Iro thought. I know those voices! Please...not again! Beo! Where are yo-
Iro's shout for help was interrupted by a sharp kick to his ribs. He grunted in pain and curled into a ball to protect himself. But he didn't open his eyes.
A hand grabbed him by the hair and pulled him into a sitting position with his back against the wall.
"Open your eyes!" the familiar voice of Fa-Lin ordered. Iro shook his head free from the grasp and spat in the general direction of the speaker. Large hands grabbed him by the arms, pinning them to his side.
Before Iro could shout anything, he felt a presence touch his mind. For a moment, he thought it was Beo. But the presence wasn't dragon in nature and Iro shut his mind off from all contact.
The presence divided into multiple tendrils, each probing at his mental defences. Some were soft and careful but they only distracted him from the stabs made by the others. Behind it all, Iro heard a roar of agony.
Beo? Iro thought. And that's all it took for the presence to slip in and gain control. Iro screamed in defiance and struggled against the hold but it wouldn't let go.
NO! LEAVE HIM BE! Beo's voice roared. The presence receded and Iro's eyes shot open, looking for signs of Beo. He was surrounded by blurry figures and it took a moment before Iro realised it was because of the tears in his eyes.
He blinked them away and saw Aegis and his wife, Alanis, Fa-Lin, and a stranger with messy black hair.
"Beo?" Fake Fa-Lin cried. "Is that you? Where are you?"
Peace, Beo said. I am alright despite a slight pain in my side. But do not be deceived Fa-Lin. This is the real Iro. And Iro? This is the real Fa-Lin.
Iro met Fa-Lin's eyes. And this time...he couldn't stop the tears. And neither could Fa-Lin when he wrapped his arms around Iro. They cried together in each other's embrace.
