-a year later-
Winnie was finishing up with a post op when she seen Joe.
"Hey you.." she said with a smile
"Hey.." he said as he hands her a coffee.
"Thank you." She said as she took a sip
"I need to ask you a favor. Well actually it would be a favor to Sarah." Joe said
"Okay?" She said confused.
"Um..well last weekend Hadley turned 11. Sarah and I had agreed that would be the appropriate age for the birds and the bees." Joe said
"Ah..do you want me to give her the talk? I can have Becca sit in on it as well since she turned 11 back in June." Winnie said
"Yes please. It was easy with Steve he asked questions after I explained everything and gave him a box of condoms." Joe said
She started laughing. "You and James I swear to God thats how he did all the boys." She said
Joe let out a chuckle. "Well boys are easier to talk to about sex. The thought of my Hadley Nicole being old enough for this is heart wrenching. She is my baby." Joe said
"I know honey. How about tonight I come over with my clan make dinner then talk to Hadley with Becca." Winnie said
"Okay.." Joe said as they shared a kiss.
"Love you baby..see you tonight." She said
"Love you." He said as he picked up his coffee cup and patient file.
That afternoon Becca Kannon and Nikki were all in Nikki's room. They were doing their best to get their homework done. But the boys were in their basement playing with their band.
Winnie was making lasagna and garlic bread. Joe came home and found her in the kitchen. "Something smells delicous" he said as he wrapped his arms around her waist.
"Thank you." She said
She called all the kids to dinner including the boys bandmates/friends. After dinner the girls helped clean up.
"Okay..I need Hadley and Becca with me." Winnie said
They both looked at her. "Are we in trouble mom?" Becca said
"No honey. I just need to talk to you two about something." Winnie said
"Oooo sex talk time..." Bucky said
"Aww little sister is growing up..dad better prepare your boyfriend speech." Steve said
"Boys.." Joe said
Both girls swallowed hard as they followed Winnie upstairs to Nikki's room. Winnie explained all about their bodies changing and periods. She explained all of their anatomies and the boys.
She started to explain all the ins and outs of sex. Both girls were completely freaked out by the whole conversation. Becca left the room after it was over.
"Winnie?" Nikki said
"Yeah sweetie." She said
"I was wondering if you could tell me how I would know if I like a boy." Nikki said
"Well..if he makes you feel so nervous that you get butterflies. He makes you smile as soon as he walks into the room." Winnie said
Nikki bit her lip. "Why are you asking baby? Is there a boy that does that to you?" Winnie said
"Oh no. I was just wondering.." Nikki said which was a lie.
Nikki realized in that moment that the boy that made her feel that way. He was downstairs it was her brother's best friend Bucky.
After Winnie left the room she shut her door. She sighed "Maybe if I was a little older."
Becca and Kannon came back upstairs to finished their homework. "They kicked you out?" Nikki said
"Yes.." Kannon said
"They always kick us out." Becca said
"We should start our own. Get the other younger siblings." Nikki said
"That would be awesome! We all know how to play as well." Kannon said
"Lets do it!" Becca said
"B&R" Nikki said with a smile.
They started to text the other little siblings as they finished up their homework.
