It was two weeks before Christmas. Nikki came home from her Aunt Jackie's house. Jackie cut her hair and put some more purple in her hair. While she was there Nikki's uncle Nate gave her a new piercing and another wrist tattoo.
When she came home nobody was home. Nikki called Joe.
"Daddy where is everybody?" She said
"Oh baby I meant to call Jackie to bring you here. Natasha and Sydney both went into labor. I will come get you baby." He said
"Oh.." she said
"Im on my way." Joe said then hung up.
When she got in his truck "Nikki..Im not gonna let you go back over there if you come home with another tattoo." Joe said
She looked down.
"I wish you would talk to me or even Winnie. I know she isn't your mom but she has been a part of your life for all of your 14 years." Joe said as he shifted his gear shift.
They finally arrived at the hospital. She followed her dad up to the room the girls were sharing.
"Aunt Nikki is here." Joe said as they came in.
Bucky saw that she had more purple and cut her hair. When she took off her hoodie her shirt raised a little she had dermal piercings. She also had plastic wrap on a new wrist tattoo.
"Aunt Nikki meet your niece Zoey Nicole Rogers." Natasha said
Nikki smiled as she took the tiny baby girl. "Hi Zoey..you got yourself a good middle name. Its my name." She said as she carried her to a chair.
Bucky swallowed hard as he looked down. She completely disregarded him and Sydney.
"Nikki..you have a step-nephew." Joe said
She was still gushing over her niece. "Hadley.." Joe said
She sighed.
She looked over at Bucky. "Your...um his name is Cooper James Barnes." Bucky said
"Congratulations." She said then went back to gushing over Zoey.
Zoey started to get fussy. "Oh you need the boob don't you. Here you go mama. She is beautiful Nat and love the name." She said as she walked back to Natasha.
"Okay daddy Im ready to go home. Im hungry and tired." She said
"You don't want to hold Cooper." Winnie said
"I rather not. I will be at the car." She said and walked out.
Bucky shook his head Sydney knew the truth. Bucky was honest with her when she asked if he knew what was wrong with Nikki.
A few days later the girls got to come home. Nikki was about to go upstairs when Sydney said
"Nikki..do you want to hold him?" Sydney said
Nikki shook her head no then went on upstairs. Natasha was in her room feeding Zoey.
"Do you want to talk to me? Im a very good listener. I can tell something is really eating away at you Nik. This right here isn't you.." Natasha said
Nikki looked down. "I'm not ready.." she said
Natasha squeezed her hand. "Who ever the boy is. He is a damn idiot to not see the beauty that you are." Natasha said
Bucky was about to walk in when Nat said that. He decided to go back downstairs. It was clear that Nikki just wasn't ready to let go.
