Nicki POV

I was helping Meek get ready for work me

"Any plans for today?" He asked

"Imma clean up then watch TV" I answered him

"Don't you wanna go to the mall or the park or the zoo or somewhere?" He asked

"No"

"Nic you need to do something besides sit inside the whole day" he said

"I can wash the swimming pool" I said

"What?" He looked at me

"Or maybe I can sweep the driveway" I suggested

"You outta ya mind?"

"No I'm just tryna keep busy" I said

"How about you call that friend of yours and tell her to come over?"

"No I'll think of something" I said

"I better not find you washing the walls or the roof" he said

"I promise you won't" I said

He came over to me

"Enjoy your day and behave, I don't wanna see your ass anywhere near the cleaning products" he said then kissed me

"Yes I'll behave and enjoy your day"

I walked him to the car and watched as he left

Boredom here I come

I was washing the dishes when I heard somebody knocking I ignored it maybe it's one of Meek's neighbor I continued washing the dishes

"Onika are you in there?" I heard my mom's voice

She continued knocking I wiped my hands and went to open the door she was so relieved to see me

"Oh baby I was worried about you" she hugged me tightly

"I'm okay" I said letting go and letting her in

"Where's the cop?" She asked

"At work" I said

"You need to come back home we all need you and we miss you" she said

"I'm not going back there" I said

"It was just a small misunderstanding I'm sure you two can resolve it, the kids miss you they always ask about you" she said

"No Mom I'm done tolerating dad's behavior I've had enough and if my kids wanna see me they can come visit me or we could meet at the park" I said

"You are really choosing this cop over us" she said shaking her head

"Same way you chose dad over your family, I also found love just like you" I said

"Don't talk to me like that I chose your dad over my family for the right reasons" she said

"I also chose Meek over my family for the right reasons, for once in your lifetime just do something right mom you've been on that man's side through every bad thing he does and turnt a blind eye"

"I vowed to be with him in good and bad times" she said

"I hope you won't regret those vows when you're in a prison cell" I said

"What?" She asked looking confused

"The cops are after dad and everything that belongs to him including us I don't wanna go to prison so I'll be testifying against your husband" I said
