Chapter 9: The Creature Part 2. . .

Adelina's P.O.V.

I stood in the den as my father, Chris and Ashley rushed into the room. I had this feeling that Asia and Josh wouldn't be with them as soon as they left. Chris and Ashley stood beside me out of breath. I gently put my hand on Ashley's shoulder.
"Go downstairs and wait guys, I want to talk with my dad," I said to them softly.

Chris just looked at me for a moment.
"I still can't believe he's your dad," Chris said to me in disbelief.

I said nothing to him as I looked at him. He took Ashley down to the basement. My dad walked closer to me.
"I can't believe this dad," I said to him with a sadness filling my voice.
"Asia, should never have left," Dad said to me.
"Oh come on Dad, she couldn't leave Josh out there by himself, he'd never survive one of those things on his own, -"
"I don't care! At least if she'd stay here, she wouldn't have -"
"Okay, Dad just stop! We don't know if she's alive or dead at this moment, but I think I may know who this Wendigo was -"

My dad looked in my direction.
"Emily, said that while she was down in the mines she found several clues that indicated Hannah was still alive, and she found Beth's head -"
"She what?"
"She found Beth's head down there, I think Hannah may be the main Wendigo we are dealing with -"
"How would you know?"
"Dad, if the person had a tattoo before they turned would it disappear after they turned?"
"No, it was a part of their skin, it would remain there. Why are you asking me this question Lina?"
"Hannah had a butterfly tattoo on her arm just underneath her shoulder, if that Wendigo out there has that exact tattoo, its Hannah,"
"Hannah was a Washington wasn't she?"
"Yeah, her and Beth were twin sisters, Josh is their brother,"
"Josh is a Washington?"
"Yeah,"

My dad said nothing for a moment as he stood there.
"If we find them alive and make it off this mountain, Asia's not allowed to see him anymore,"

I gave him an "are you kidding me look".
"Dad you can't do that to Asia. She's been through so much already and so has Josh, actually especially Josh, not to mention he has schizophrenia and Asia is the only one who can control him during his schizophrenic episodes,"

My dad stayed silent for a moment.
"She shouldn't have snuck off like that,"
"Dad, she's in love -"

Anger filled dad's eyes as he looked at me. I crossed my arms as I looked at him.
"Yeah, I'm going to say that, Asia is in love with Josh, dad and there's nothing you can do about it,"

He looked as though he didn't know what to say. I didn't know how to continue.
"I just - I just want her to be okay,"
"I know dad, - where do you think she could be?"
"She could be down in the mines, it lives down there, -"
"Do you think that's where she could be?"
"I'm not sure, I'm hoping -"

A loud Wendigo scream could be heard from outside at the same time I heard a gunshot from downstairs. Dad quickly turned his head the direction of the door, while mine was turned toward the stairs of the basement. I don't think I want to know what that was. I cautiously turned my head to look back at my dad.
"You go downstairs to see what that was, I'll go outside to make sure our friend here stays away," Dad said to me sternly.

I said nothing, I just nodded. I turned around to start walking downstairs just as dad walked to the door. I wasn't too sure I wanted to know what happened down here. I walked to the room they were in. My hand quickly went to cover my mouth. Mike held a gun in his hand. His eyes filled with despair. Ashley, Chris, and Sam didn't know what to think.
"Mike, what the hell did you do?!" I shouted to him.
"I - I - uh -"
"I - I - uh - What the hell were you thinking Michael Tyson Munroe?!" I shouted.
"She was bitten by the Wendigo," Mike said to me still shaken after what he did.
"YOU IDIOT!!!!"
"HOW DARE YOU -"
"MIKE, YOU DON'T ACT BEFORE KNOWING ANYTHING ABOUT WENDIGOS!"
"Oh, but you do?"

I was beyond enraged as I stood there.
"YYEESSSS! My father is a Wendigo hunter! He taught me and Asia everything we need know about hunting them. Their bite is not infectious, -"

The room fell silent as they looked at me. Mike didn't know what to say. I sighed trying to calm myself down.
"If you get bitten by the Wendigo, it does nothing, you can only turn into a Wendigo if you resort to eating human flesh," I said to them trying to remain calm.
"Well, how was I supposed to know that?" Mike asked cluelessly.

I felt the anger taking over again.
"You wait for me or my father to come down and tell you, instead of acting before thinking -"
"Well, maybe Asia should have told us that when she was ranting on about these dang things earlier," Mike stated.

I couldn't say anything as I stood there. I could feel the anger flowing through my veins. In one swift move, I took my arm back, bringing it forward and punching Mike so hard in the face it knocked him back into the wall.
"Adelina, what the hell?" Ashley asked a little freaked out as she walked close to me.

I said nothing to her as I continued to look at Mike.
"Maybe that will teach you not to be so stupid next time," I said to Mike.

I didn't want to take my anger out on Mike, but there was nothing or no one else around to take it out on. I fear my sister and Josh may be dead. I just hope that Asia told him how she felt before they did. I know that was the only thing Asia ever wanted to do. She didn't want time to pass by before she did tell him. That's why she was so heartbroken when she thought Josh had died. I could tell, even though she was angry for what he did, she was secretly so happy that he was still alive. She thought no one could tell, but I'm her sister, I can always tell. My dad walked downstairs and looked at the scene in front of him. He watched me as I shook my hand slightly. Dad looked at Emily.
"What the hell happened down here!?" Dad asked angered.
"Uh, - dad -"
"We thought she was going to turn into a Wendigo," Sam spoke in for Mike.
"How many stupid people do you have in your friend group?" Dad asked as he looked at me.
"Okay, come on Dad -"

He looked at Mike who was still holding the gun.
"I assume my daughter explained the bite of a Wendigo?" He said to him in the form of a question.

Mike nodded to him.
"I have been bitten before but never turned, here -"

Dad walked over to his bag, which Sam brought downstairs, and took out his journal.
"Take a look at this," he told them as he gave the journal to Ashley.

Ashley sighed as she took the diary.
"I'm going to go get the cable car key from Josh," Mike stated walking towards a different exit that was down here.
"How do you plan on doing that Mike?" I asked him as I crossed my arms.
"The sanatorium, there's a path that can lead you down into the mines," Mike explained.
"I'm coming with you," I said to him walking closer to him.
"What?" He asked surprised.

I guess I can't blame him for being surprised, I did punch him in the face.
"With how stupid you're being tonight you wouldn't make it back to give us the cable car key, Adelina's going with you," Dad said to him.

I looked in Mike's direction.
"Alright, alright, but we have to go now," Mike said to me.

I nodded to him.
"Dad, what are you gonna do?" I asked him as he was gathering up some of his things.
"I'm taking the rest of the group the other way into the mines, maybe we can find Asia and Josh that way," Dad explained.

I nodded to him before I walked out of the room with Mike. I don't know if Josh and Asia are still alive, but if there is even a chance then I'm going to find them.
