After Ash's win at the Fushia City gym they all made their way to Saffron City which was the one Ash was most excited about.
"ASH! MAY! ALAIN! PAUL!BONNIE! MAX! " a familiar voice called out turning around they all saw Lillie and Gladion running towards them happily
"Lillie, Gladion" Ash and May said before hugging Lillie
"Not to seem rude but what are you doing here?" Paul asked shaking Gladion's hand
"Our mother thought that we needed a vacation with how hard we were working at the foundation" Lillie answered as Max and Bonnie hugged her
"And we were on our way to see the Kanto branch of the Aether foudation" Gladion said
"Where is that?" Alain asked
"At Cinnabar Island so we thought that we'd travel with you in the meantime" Lillie said happily
"And how did Luna take that?" Paul asked Gladion
"She's fine after all she is the Akala Island Kahuna now" Gladion said
"Alright!" Max and Bonnie exclaimed happily
"Well then let's go" Ash said before she heard a voice
"Help us please" It said and before she knew it she and Alain were racing over to the center of the forest with everyone trying to catch up to them
"Alain! Ash!" everyone called after them
"Alain I feel like we need to hurry" Ash said as she ran faster
"I know what you mean whoever called us is in real danger" Alain said
As they reached the clearing they saw a poacher trying to lock a shiny Gardevior and Gallade into a cage
"Greninja! Water Shuriken!" Ash commanded as she threw Greninja's pokeball into the air then once released Greninja threw a water shuriken at the cage breaking it
"What the- grrrr you brats! Onix show those brats whos boss!" the hunter said throwing his pokeball up into the air
"Metagross! Use Iron claw!" Alain commanded as he released his Metagross who threw the rock snake pokemon away with just one attack
"DAMN YOU LITTLE BRATS!" the hunter cursed as he tried to make a quick get away
"Don't even think about it! Beautifly String Shot!" May commanded before her Beautifly tied the hunter up
After tieing up the hunter Paul, Gladion and Max went to find Officer Jenny, May, Lilie and Bonnie were looking after the hunter making sure that he doesn't get away and finally Alain and Ash were taking care of Gallade and Gardevior
"Thank you" Gardevior said as she relaxed
"You're welcome" Ash said before they all heard officer Jenny's motor cycle
After Officer Jenny arrested the hunter Ash and Alain went to the Pokémon Center to check if Gardevior and Gallade were alright
"Ash, Alain I need your help" nurse Joy said before both trainers followed her to the ICU
"What's the matter nurse Joy?"Ash asked her voice full of concern
" I need you two to help me in taking care of Gardevior and Gallade. They don't seem to trust me enough to get near them so I thought that if both of you were there you would be able to get them to calm down enough to let me assess them" she explained and without another word both trainers walked into the ICU to help nurse Joy
Two days later Gallade and Gardevior were given a clean bill of health and were captured by Ash and Alain though they only trusted their trainers signifying that they still had a long way to go in their road to recovery. As they made their way to Saffron City Ash began to feel a familiar presence following them and smiled
"Hey Max I think someone's following us" she said smiling before they all looked back to see a Kirlia who danced towards Max happily
"Wait you're?" Max said before crying
"Looks like he couldn't wait anymore" May said in amusement as her little brother hugged the pokemon tightly
"Incredible he was able to find you all the way from Hoenn" Ash said smiling softly
"Yeah it's great!" Max said still having watery eyes smiling happily
"Time to go to Saffron City" Ash said before everyone nodded
