The New Managers

Chapter Thirty-Nine

Later, the music is blaring and the boys are on stage doing their routine. The managers are standing on the side behind the stage, proudly watching their boys do their thing.

Mina sighs in content and nods to the boys. "With the scheduled breaks, the boys should enjoy all of the shows as much as they're enjoying this one."
SuHee nods and smiles. "I'm glad we could help them."

Yoongi watches from a little ways away, taking a picture and typing away on her phone. During one of the more active dances, Jin's foot lands on a slick spot on the stage and he slips. Mina gasps in shock as he hits the stage hard. Despite his painful wincing, he takes Jungkook's offered hand and quickly resumes the dance.

SuHee shares a look with Mina. "That must have hurt. It looked like he rolled his ankle."
"I saw him crack his head on the floor too." She nibbles her lip nervously as they watch the boys finish.

The song soon comes to an end and Jin stumbles back, grabbing Taehyung's shoulders to steady himself. He nudged his mic away from his mouth and says something to Tae, who wraps an arm around his Hyung's waist and helps him to the back.

The moment they're off stage, Mina hurries over. "SeokJin!"
SuHee grabs a few ice packs and gets the groups' doctor to look at him. She catches the Maknae's attention and nods to Jin. "Do you know how hard he hit?"
He shakes his head. "It sounded hard to me. I heard it over the crowd and music."
She grimaces and sets a hand on his shoulder. "Okay. Thank you, Kook. Get yourself cooled down and some water, okay?"

Jungkook nods, watching his hyung nervously out of the corner of his eye. The doctor examines Jin, gently feeling the the back of his head. Mina takes the ice packs and stands prepared to apply them as her heart thumps hard. The doctor shines a light in Jin's eyes to test his eyes. Jin looks up at Mina and frowns a little when he sees three of her.

Mina frowns down at him. "SeokJin.... you don't look too good...." she notices the way his eyes struggle to focus.
He shakes his head slowly, eyes growing heavy. "I'm tired."
The doctor lightly taps the man's cheek. "No, no, no. You can't go to sleep, absolutely not."
Mina's head jerks up. "What's wrong?"
The doctor's lips purse tightly. "It looks like he has a concussion."
Jungkook's eyes widen. "Is it bad?"
The doctor shakes his head. "No. It's very minor. He needs to stay awake for 24 hours to ensure it doesn't get any worse."
"24 hours?" Mina winces. "I thought it was only like 2 or 3 hours..."

He shakes his head. "24 hours and someone needs to keep an eye on him."
SuHee looks at Mina. "We can't have the others doing it. They need their sleep."
The older girl runs a nervous hand through her hair. "We can do it. What about the concert though?" She turns to see the remainder of the members huddled together, guzzling water and getting their makeup touched up.
"The show goes on, with or without him." Manager Saejin announces, walking up to the girls. "The fans can't be kept waiting too long."
The two nod and SuHee frowns. "I can't believe this happened on the first show...."
Mina puts a hand on Jin's chin, tilting his head back up from where he started to droop. "Hey. Stay awake."
Someone approaches from behind with a camera, and she quickly moves to block the view.
"No photos, please!"

SuHee gently scolds Yoonhi for taking pictures when Jin is injured and goes over to the group of members talking quietly. "Jin won't be able to finish the show. But hopefully he'll be well enough for he next one. Mina and I will take turns watching him tonight. He has to stay awake for 24 hours."
Jin winces. "Keep it down, will you?"
Saejin goes to the other boys and quickly shoos them back on stage to finish the show.
"Bye, Hyungie! Don't die!" Taehyung calls out before they disappear around the corner.
