She had to move some time.

She knew she couldn't lay there forever, or she would surely starve to death.

But images haunted her mind, scars covered her body, blood pooled around her, long dried tears stained her cheeks, and she could no longer feel the pangs of hunger in her stomach. In fact, she thought if she did eat, she would probably be sick. But how long had she been laying there? Two days? More maybe.

As she remained there on the cold, stone floor, staring through the exit into a dark abyss of pouring rain, the dank, moist cave suddenly felt more inviting. All it seemed to do was rain.

Berries sounded nice, maybe. She could find some berries to eat somewhere.

She squeezed her eyes shut tight and heaved, pushing her weight onto shaky, unsteady hands and knees. It was the first time she'd moved in days, and her entire body felt stiff and achy. Her elbows gave out and she dropped to the floor.

She gave herself a chance to catch her breath, then started again, slower this time.

By some miracle, she managed to find her footing. She staggered outside of the cave and into the storm.
