It was all her fault.

The girl collapsed on her knees in the grass, watching from her place high in the hills as fire raged across her beloved new home. Screaming echoed in the night sky and rattled in her ears. It was a sound she knew she could never forget- shrieks of terror.

Tears poured over her face in a never ending stream. It didn't matter how loud she cried. They wouldn't hear her.

The dragon left her to mourn for a spell, watching the town crumble beneath her feet, but he knew they had to go before they were found.

Suddenly, there were voices in the forest near them.

Quick as a flash, the dragon grabbed her, and they dashed.

They had to hide, and she knew just where to go.

She'd been in this cave before, and she knew it was well hidden and safe. From its place in the mountains, it looked like just a small, dark divot in the stone. The cavern delved very far into the mountain side, where she could bury herself in shadows.

But back then, it was all for fun. Now, she quaked as she tucked herself deep inside. Now, Shouting rose from around her as they slowly closed in.
