"It's me... your buddy... Ricky. Sorry to bother you. I know we don't do voice convos, but I saw you singing today, and I felt, like, we shared a moment, or a thing. I don't know, maybe a moment is a thing. Why am I still talking? Anyway, whatever. If this voicemail is too much for you, or too soon, or you're not into it, we can just ignore this and pretend nothing ever happened, okay? Poof. Gone... Bye."

*beep*

"Nailed it," Ricky whispered to himself as he hung up the phone.

"Hey. Ready to go?" Alice Muller asked she walked down the stairs to meet up with her friend.

"Hey, why didn't you answer your phone?"

"What do you mean?" Alice furrowed her eyebrows as she pulled her phone out of her back pocket, "You didn't call me."

Ricky's face paled as he saw no notifications on the girl's screen. Mumbling curses words under his breath, the boy frantically pulled out his phone and scrolled quickly. "Shit, I called Nini instead!"

"How? Alice and Nini are nowhere near each other in the alphabet."

"I know! But remember when I changed your name to annoy you? I never changed it back."

"My name is still Nightmare Demon from Hell? Seriously, Ricky?"

"Not the point!"

"Okay, pop a xanax, Bowen. It can't be all bad. Whenever you call me it's only to say something stupid like 'Big Red got his head stuck in the banister, bring butter' or 'some kid tripped down the stairs and didn't suffer a terrible injury so it's okay to laugh'."

"But I said-... you know what, you're right. I just called you to see where you were."

"See, Nini, will figure out it wasn't for her and all will be good."
