"Come on, dude, I'm just saying, this is your chance," Big Red encouraged his friend as they walked down the hall.
"The last thing I'm gonna do is ask this girl to Homecoming on the day of the dance," Ricky told him.
"But she's single and ready to mingle. I think? You never told me about her besides the fact that it is a girl."
"And I don't need to tell you. She hardcore friend-zoned me. She made that very clear."
"Then ask her as friends! We can all hang out together! You, me, her, and Alice."
"You don't understand how horrible that sounds."
"Yeah, yeah, I know Alice will probably be her judgy, abrasive self, but I'll put her on her leash for the night. N-not that I'm insinuating that Alice is a dog or a-a bitch."
"I-I know, Red, but I don't think it's a good idea. We're kind of not on good terms right now."
"What happened?"
"I-" Ricky cut himself off when a certain girl walked beside them, "Um, h-hey Ally."
"Hey boys. What's going on?"
"Nothing-"
"I'm trying to convince Ricky to ask his lady friend to homecoming," Big Red answered, not feeling the harsh glare from his friend.
"Lady friend?"
"It's no one. There is no lady friend," Ricky turned and looked at Big Red sternly, "There is no lady friend."
