Season Two, Episode Sixteen

"All right, all right, all right look." I swear I sounded significantly more British than usual as I spoke. "I got some things to say, but I swear  I've got no idea what happened to Tesla."

Two of Phil's men grabbed me, their grips firm. Uncle Phil ignored what I was saying, walking towards me and patting my sides in an attempt to check for weapons.

"You aren't armed?" He clicked his tongue. "I feel insulted."

And in that moment I wished I was carrying my badge, just so he could see just how much I could insult him. Noble walked forward again, angrily shoving his uncle away and trying to get the two men off of me. I did not protest.

"Just give me a second, don't touch him. If he says he's got nothing to do with it then he's got nothing to do with it." A bold statement from someone who didn't even believe that moments ago.

Phil just laughed, grabbing his nephew by the shoulder and looking him square in the eye. He smirked, something that held a threatening undertone. "Why don't you sober up and be useful again?"

Noble didn't have the time to say anything back, because suddenly sirens were going off and I was very confused. A police cruiser came flying around the corner, and the two men holding me let go. Stepping away and acting like they had done nothing wrong.

The cruiser screeched to a stop a few yards away from us, and out stepped a detective that I did not recognize, and two uniformed officers, with an air of familiarity around them.

"Oh that's great." I heard Phil mutter, before he put on the kind air of a businessman and approached the officers.

The detective held her badge up to show Phil, before looking at me. "Alvie Jones?" I nodded. She looked me up and down. "You are wanted for questioning in the murder of Johnny Tesla; do you want to come with us?

I shook my head firmly, not sure if they were aware of my status as an undercover officer. "No, I don't think I will." I stepped backwards.

"Would you like to add resisting arrest as well?" She asked, before waving the two uniformed officers forward as she spoke.

"Bloody hell no," I muttered, but still not approaching the officers willingly.

The first one grabbed me by the arm, turning to handcuff me, and I was panicked. Even though I was usually on the side of the law it was different being arrested by two officers. I looked at Noble, shouting as they pulled me towards the cruiser.

"Did you set me up?" Noble looked upset at my question. "Answer me!"

He made eye contact with me, looking misty-eyed. "Never."

The officer holding my left arm spoke suddenly, reading me my rights as they escorted me to the cruiser. "Mr. Jones, you have the right to remain silent and refuse to answer questions. Anything you say may be used against you in a court of law." I recognized the voice, and as he finished reciting the Miranda rights, he turned me towards the front, and I suddenly realized why Jameson didn't answer my call earlier.

He was rather good at keeping a straight face as he put a hand on the back of my head and helped me into the car. I couldn't help but smile to myself as I sat down, but I was quick to compose myself as I looked up, catching sight of the Sanfino's through the window. They looked just as confused as I felt.

It took everyone a moment to get into the cruiser. Jameson climbed into the back row with me, the detective in the front passenger, and the other officer, who upon second glance was actually Sargent Renzuli. We pulled away, and it was silent in the car for an long moment, before the Detective turned to face me.

"Alvie Jones, is officially retired." I smiled brightly, wanting to hug Jameson next to me, but I was quickly stopped by the fact that I was still wearing my handcuffs.

"Good that," I muttered, turning to face the window and offering my still cuffed hands to Jameson. It took him a second to realize what I was doing, before he actually uncuffed my wrists. I turned in what little space I had in the back row, and throwing my arms around Jameson's shoulders.

He wrapped his arms around my waist, and I smiled into his shoulder.

As he held me I realized suddenly that I was really done with the undercover business, and that I would never have to do it again. Jameson and I could go about our normal lives, on dates, and be seen in public together without a regard for anyone seeing me as Alvie Jones.

"I love you Jameson." I whispered, making sure it was just low enough for him to hear.
