Season Three, Episode Seventeen

I walked into the kitchen to catch Jameson smile as he spoke:

"Watch you don't get a finger in the salad."

He turned, smiling up at me and kissing my cheek as I stepped past him. I looked up at Erin as he went, squinting in a way of asking her what that was about.

"Don't ask." She snapped back.

I moved on, grabbing the last few dishes left on the counter top. "Okay then." I muttered, walking back into the dining room.

I set the dishes in the middle of the table before stepping back and making sure all of the dishes and everything was all set. The rest of the family was in the sitting room, watching the football game that was going on and as I stepped in some thing happened on screen that got them all riled up.

I smiled, it was different seeing all of these people in this setting rather than behind a desk or in front of a press group.

"Dinners ready." I called, and instantly every started moving to the dining room. It was a great thing they all knew the deal when it came to family dinner, and once it was ready they were ready.

Jameson beat me to our seats, so it was my turn to kiss his cheek as I sat down. He grabbed my hand under the table and we all prayed before sending the dishes around the table.

Erin was oddly aggressive with everything, and as I concentrated on that I realized that everyone was a bit tense, and that the conversation was rather dry.

"Okay I'll bite." Jameson spoke up, and I looked at him. "What is going on with all of you?"

I could quite literally see Danny start to form his usual reply of trouble on the job before suddenly remembering that we weren't on the job for the past few days. Frank looked guilty, and Linda didn't look much better.

"How did your date go yesterday?" Henry asked in an attempt of changing the subject.

"It was great." Jameson looked over at me as he spoke with a smile. "We went ice skating, and then for dinner and drinks."

"Ice skating?" Sean asked, "But you suck at ice skating."

Linda was quick to reprimand. "Don't say sucks Sean."

"I do, but Jett doesn't." Jameson smiled, "You should see him out there, he's a natural."

I shook my head, "I dabble."

It got quiet again, and I sighed.

"The Citizens for Police Accountability. That's what's got everyone." Nicki said, before looking around the table. "I'm gonna guess at least."

I recognized the name, and after thinking about it I realized it was the website that someone had sent me yesterday morning. Frank got railed up as he spoke and I realized that something was bothering him a lot more than just pictures on the website.

"They act like they're providing honest information, but it's just a way to get more eyeballs to their website."

"Ever since I came on the job, there's been a citizen taking a photo or video of every collar I've ever made." Jameson sounded annoyed as he spoke, and I knew how he felt, it was the same all the way around.

"What is the Citizens against-" Sean trailed off, not exactly sure what the rest of the words were.

Erin sighed as she spoke. "It's some creep who thinks Dad has become Big Brother, so he's harassing us, taking our pictures, posting them." She looked down at Henry. "I'm surprised they haven't gotten to you yet."

"Wait they got you?" Henry asked, he looked up and down the table. "Who else they get."

"Dad at some dinner, Danny and Jett in the car on a call. And Jamie and..." Erin trailed off, and suddenly I was much more intrigued than I was originally.

"'Jamie and', me and who?" Jameson asked, setting his silverware down as he looked at the end of the table.

You know that feeling when you know somethings gone wrong. Your blood turns to ice and you feel really light headed. I knew what the picture was of without looking.

"And me?" My voice cracked as I spoke. "That's how you knew about the date. You saw the photos on the website, oh my God."

I looked at Jameson, feeling awful that he had just been outed to everyone that he knew. I didn't want him to regret anything, I certainly didn't. But I was a detective, I should have noticed someone following us.

"I've already asked him to take down the photos of you two." Frank sighed as he spoke, and I felt myself relax at that little bit of information.

I looked over at Jameson, realizing how pale he looked. "Uh, we'll be back." I stood up, pulling Jameson to his feet and out of the dining room. We stopped in the entrance hall and I could practically feel the silence in the air as we stood there. "I am so sorry Jameson."

He shook his head, before falling into my chest and wrapping his arms around me. I did the same. "It's not your fault."

"But I still feel awful." I kissed his forehead, and we stood there for a long time.

I couldn't believe that someone would do that, and after a few minutes Jameson pulled back, standing a few inches away and looking up at me.

"I had to come out to everyone at some point." There was an understood, 'maybe everyone didn't see it' under his words.

"But it should have been your choice, no one else's but yours."

"I know." He stood on his toes and pressed a kiss to my lips. "I love you."

I smiled, "I love you more."
