CAFUNE
Deep breath. Shallow breath.
Hazel meeting violet,
She was the prettiest he'd ever seen.
His eyes, shining with love,
Were trained to memorize her features over and over again.Obsessed over her long, curly black tresses
His fingers were attuned to run through her hair each time.
Her head resting on his heart,
He knew he could never find peace anywhere else.Seconds. Minutes. Hours passed;
His fingers never stopped coursing through her hair.
And then a single tear slipped from his eye.
And another. And another.
Her body shook as he broke out in silent sobs. But he knew she couldn't feel
His Love, his pain.
'Cause she was no longer there for him
Not in that moment. Not forever.

Cabir was staring out of the window of his hospital room when Manik entered his room silently. The ambience inside the room was so un- Cabir like that Manik had to do a double take at Cabir’s face to ensure that he was in the right room. However, Manik understood what it was like and he could empathise with Cabir. In some corner of his heart, he even pitied Cabir.Manik himself never experienced the love of a family but Cabir did; he had the most amazing mother they all envied him for. And to lose her love and support at a time like that, when his lover wasn’t there by his side, was truly pitiful. Thinking about Cabir’s situation made Manik angry on Raghav, their teacher and Cabir’s ‘supposed’ lover. He didn’t understand or even try to understand what made Cabir chose Raghav or even imagine the two of them together. If he hadn’t seen Cabir with Raghav with his own eyes, he would’ve thought that it was another one of those elaborate pranks by Cabir, albeit a really disturbing one.
As selfish as it sounds, he didn't like to see Cabir gloomy for his own personal reasons. Cabir isn't supposed to be sad. He is supposed to be the happy, gay guy (works in both contexts!) who lives happily and spreads joy in other's lives. Kind of like Santa Claus!
Silently walking towards Cabir, Manik sat on the stool near his bed and took out the take-out boxes from Cabir's favorite breakfast place. Serving one for himself and the other one for Cabir, he placed both of their coffees in styrofoam mugs on the short portable table attached to his bed.
"Do you want me to feed you too, now?" Manik asked rolling his eyes as he jabbed his fork into his omelette. Cabir, who was aware of Manik's presence in the hospital room the whole time, couldn't help but let out a smile at his hard-yet-so-soft friend.
"Aaaaaa" Cabir made an audible sound while opening his mouth in a reply to his sarcasm.
"Shut up and eat. Or I can just finish these off myself too." Manik said, shovelling another bite into his mouth.
