"Taeyong, please! Please slow down!" Jaehyun yells out as loud as his voice allowed him to. He prays that the cold, strong wind carried his pleas to the older's ears who was far ahead of him.
Taeyong heard him loud and clear, but didn't slow down or respond back. His lungs burned as he panted harder, forcing his legs to run faster. Taeyong didn't know where he was going, he just let his body take him wherever it wanted to go.
"Taeyong, please! I'm begging you," Jaehyun slips on a patch of ice that the older gracefully leaped over with ease, "Please slow down! I don't want you to get hurt!!"
"Stop following me! Just leave me alone, it'll be best for the both of us!" Taeyong screams with all the force he could. He keeps his running speed the same, actually running faster as he sees the infamous apartment building.
Confusion runs through Jaehyun's mind as he sees the two of them approaching his apartment building. He sees Taeyong trying to open the glass front doors, but having no luck since he doesn't have a keycard to unlock them.
Jaehyun swiftly pulls out his card to scan the both of them in, praying that Taeyong somehow remembers the floor and everything. The older rushes past Jaehyun without giving him one look and goes towards the stairs, even though the elevator had gotten fixed since the last time he had been in the younger's apartment.
Their bare ears and hands burn as they're engulfed with warmth from the heaters, the wind chill really getting to the best of their bodies' abilities. Their speed up the stairs was slower compared to what it was earlier, especially Jaehyun's. But can one blame them? A winter storm is on its way, they'd rather be toasty inside rather than gaining frostbite.
Surprisingly, Taeyong knew where the apartment was, despite not being there for months. He makes it to the infamous front door, finally giving a good look at the younger as he walks down the hall in exhaustion.
Though seeing the older waiting by his suite, it causes Jaehyun to start running again, catching the older off-guard, not given any time to think. He pins Taeyong to the door, not letting him have another opportunity to escape.
Jaehyun can easily see the anxiety in Taeyong's eyes as his confident and stern ones burn through them. Taeyong's breathing is still heavy while Jaehyun's has already calm down a little, giving the younger even more confidence with the situation at hand.
"Taeyong," Jaehyun first starts off with the older's name, knowing he has snapped him back into reality, "Before you leave me again for what felt like a lifetime, that night we spent together completely changed me for the better. Saying that out-loud makes me seem love-stuck and childish but whatever. Hell, me without you has been so dull and boring, I want to experience that night everyday for the rest of my life."
Taeyong's eyes begin to water, the words that he just heard made him realize that not all people are out there to do harm. Jaehyun might be the only person that he can trust, despite only truly knowing of his existence for months. But Taeyong doesn't care, he felt the same way towards the younger.
"I like me better when I'm with you." Jaehyun peacefully mumbles out, blessing Taeyong's ears as the older's mind goes blank.
