Obito believed that Deidara was improving and adjusting to his reality.

Sure, he may have lost his own unique talent but he couldn't have always depended on that art of his.

Deidara once said that Tobi was art but Obito isn't Tobi. Obito Uchiha is and can only be Obito Uchiha, not Tobi or anyone that Deidara dreams of him to be.

Does that still mean he's fleeting art? Or does it contradict everything that the  blonde has said? Does it mean that Obito has to do actual work to meet Deidara's taste in men?

Well, yes and no. Deidara had loved him once as Tobi, he could love him again as Obito.

Now if only the artist had believed in second chances, then his plan could carry out perfectly.

The love Obito once had for Rin couldn't compare to the one he had for the artist.

It was no longer an obsession but a general feeling of love. He didn't feel the need to impress for his emotions to be returned.

He created Akatsuki to carry out his plan, he did it all for Rin. Now, he was confused and lost his way along the path of life.

He was doing it all for Deidara now. It was for Rin and now, it's for the blonde artist.

Everything about Deidara hurt Obito's head. His smile, his voice.. Everything about Deidara was bittersweet.

Continuing on with his plan of the great ninja war, he had to recuit some members to help his team fight.

Kabuto had already reanimated Hidan but he was a test subject and Obito suggested to bring him back for Deidara to be happy.

He was planning on bringing the other dead Akatsuki members, after all, they were going to be under his control. Even if Deidara told them the truth about the Akatsuki, there'd be no point since they couldn't resist from the person controlling them all.

That was the thing about Deidara, the raven never knew when the artist was going to betray him. It could happen in a snap and Obito could be dead but as if that would ever happen, Deidara still has a ways to go.

Trust was what was missing in their relationship. They had lost that bond they formed when they were partners in the Akatsuki, but the past is in the past so what could the Uchiha do?

Obito just needed to build the element of trust with Deidara so they could get onto good terms, then they could take over the whole world.

"You look fucking out-of-your-mind over there Tobito.", a voice sneers, Obito turns to face the Jashinist. The raven rolls his eyes, crossing his arms over his chest as the platinum-haired male walks towards him. "What? Got a certain blonde artist on your mind?"

"...How do I get him to trust me?"

"You don't. Trust doesn't fucking come when it's forced and shit, kinda like a relationship.", Hidan starts off. "You gotta get closer to that person, talk about some dumb shit and - I don't know - develop crappy feelings and swear to never leave each other's sides? As if I'd fucking know, why are you asking me?"

Obito lets out a low snicker. "For a rude and foul-mouthed guy, you seem to have a soft side."

"Soft side my ass. Fuck you Tobito. I know you have a horny side as well, don't deny it.", Hidan sneers in response, he holds up his scythe to the Uchiha's neck only to have it forced back down against his own will. "Fuck it, why are you even here? Pretty-boy is napping and I left his side to see what the hell you were scheming."

"You're closer to Deidara than I am, I want you to tell me everything about him.", Obito demands, Hidan ponders for a moment and nods.

"He likes art and his most-used catchphrase is 'art is an explosion'. He uses aloe-vera shampoo, I think. He also is hopelessly in love with me at the moment and despises Uchihas, like you.", Hidan cracks the raven a grin with the last sentence, only to have a death glare sent in his direction. Obito didn't seem satisfied. "You want me to say more you dumbass? You should know about Dei-chan as well. After all, you're 'in love' with him."

"I don't know much about the feeling of love.. It's been a while since I felt such a strong feeling.", Obito mumbles, he sounded sorrowful and somewhat sad but Hidan could care less.

"Just fucking shut up and stop being emo. I don't want to hear you talk about your sad life.", the Jashinist retorts. "I'd rather be back in the depths of hell instead of being here with you."

The former Akatsuki's eyes meet for a split-second, they turn away and stand in silence.

"..."

"..."

"Do you want to hear my backstory?"

"Fuck yeah."

---

Deidara wakes up. He didn't know why he woke up, he just didn't feel like dreaming about the future and blowing stuff up which was slightly OOC for him.

He was tired but didn't feel like sleeping, he was convinced that there were bags under his eyes and his body still aches from all the constant and repetitive training from the past few days.

The blonde stretches, taking note that Hidan wasn't by his side anymore. The thought of Hidan leaving made him feel a bit sad, before he could do or think of anything else, he hears a faint voice in the distance.

Deidara stumbles onto his feet, he drags himself towards the sound as the voices gradually got louder with every step he took.

He peers around the corner, rubbing his eyes as he stares at the two figures speaking. His vision finally focuses, the silhouettes were crystal clear and the blonde was lowkey confused.

He watches Hidan and Obito talk. It was stalkerish but he would rather watch from the sidelines instead of getting involved.

Either way, Deidara was interested with what they were talking about since Obito was on his knees, pouring his heart out as the Jashinist was staring at him as he awkwardly talks every once in a bit.

Deidara decides that he should chime in at this moment.

"Why are my two love interests talking to each other, un?"
