AFTER 2 YEARS

People say that with time everything becomes bearable, with time pain decreases, but in reality, as time passes the pain is still there it never decreases, we just become habitual of that pain, it becomes a part of us.
Losing someone we love is like losing our own self, a part of us die everyday due to that loss.

Two years have passed since Saad died, and two years have passed since Izah had felt alive, two years have passed since the Sikandar family was engulfed by sadness, and two years have passed since Salaar felt peace.
Alot has happened in these two years, alot has changed but at the same time, alot was still the same.

Salaar had now permanently moved back to Pakistan, he felt that his family needs him and he has to be strong for them. Mrs.Sikandar never recovered from depression and her health was constantly deteriorating. Seeing their son draped in a white shroud was a sight that never left the eyes of his parents.
Salaar's only priority now was his family, and by taking all the responsibility of the family in his hands and by taking care of all three of them he tried to keep himself busy. This was his only escape from the grief, he was running away from that pain, his only wish was one day he will wake up and that pain will not be there anymore, that feeling of emptiness will go away.

Meanwhile Izah Rehman was now a successful lawyer, the only thing she did in the past two years was work. She was broken, she was lost, the only thing that kept her sane was her work, it is like her heart stopped feeling anything, like it turned into a stone. She had stopped crying long ago, tears no longer came from her eyes. Her parents wished to see her daughter happy again they wanted to see peace in her eyes again but the only thing in her eyes was emptiness. She sometimes felt alone in this wide world, the person who used to care for her, who loved her was no longer around, and she could never get used to his absence.
Salaar's parents especially his father had grown even more fond of Izah than before, he now saw her as her own daughter, he too wanted to see her happy. Mr. Sikandar was the only person Izah now confided in, she too saw him as his own father.
This growing fatherly love that Mr. Sikandar had for Izah led him to make a decision, a decision which would again change the course of their lives.
