*Jacob's New-Do*

*Jacob's POV*

Ryder slowly carries me upstairs and I lay my head on his shoulder. I don't know why but I just love this feeling. The sparks traveling through my body and just knowing I was safe in his arms. He holds me so carefully, too. He carries me like I am this precious thing that he wouldn't dare drop.

I'm surprised to see that he doesn't bring me to the room I slept in last night, but into another bedroom. I guess it's his bedroom because it smells just like his Cinnamon-Vanilla scent. He sets me down on his bed before turning toward his closet. He pulls out a big sweatshirt, a pair of shorts, and a pair of his boxers and hands them to me.

"Here you are. I'm sorry if they don't fit quite right, they're the smallest that I have." He gives me a small smile.

I slowly stand up and start to remove the gown. His eyes widen and he quickly turns to face the wall. Weirdo. I slip on the sweatshirt, but it's so big on me that it goes past my knees. I struggle to get the bottoms on over my cast, but I manage. I have to tie them into little knots so there's less fabric and it doesn't fall down.

Finally finished, I kinda just stand there. I don't want to talk unless they ask me to, but I don't know how to get Ryder's attention. I carefully pad up to Ryder and tap him lightly on the shoulder. When he spins around, I instinctively duck to avoid the blow. When it doesn't come, I look up and see a sad smile on Ryder's face.

"C'mon, Sweetheart. Let's go get Damien and we can go shopping." He picks me up again. I love when he carries me.

We head out of the front door of the house, and I smile wide. The cool air on my face feels so good. When I tried to escape from the hospital yesterday, I never truly appreciated the feeling of being outside. The sun on my skin, the smell of nature, I can't believe I forgot something so beautiful.

Damien comes running up to us. I knew he probably went running, but it hadn't crossed my mind he had taken his shirt off. I can't stop staring at his chest. There are muscles on his torso that I didn't even know existed. I think my mouth began to water a little before Damien does that thing where he lifts my head up with his fingers.

"See something you like, Love?" His cocky smirk, for some reason, sends butterflies through my stomach. My mouth gapes open like a fish, my mind completely unable to form a coherent sentence.

Damien plants a kiss on my forehead and lets out a big belly laugh. I don't much care for whatever joke he's making, specifically because I don't understand what I'm doing that's so funny. I bury my head in Ryder's chest, smelling his delicious scent.

"Damien, you can tease our mate later. Put your shirt on so we can go get him some real clothes." Ryder brings me over to some contraption with wheels that I might have seen when I was really little. He opens a door and I see a little cabin with seats, and Ryder sets me down and straps me in.

I think he could understand I was very confused. "What's wrong, Jacob? Don't be afraid to ask questions."

I take a second to form my words. I'm still not very used to talking. "W-what is thi-s-s thing?"

He stiffens. Oh, Goddess, what did I do wrong this time? Is he going to hit me? He raises his hand, and I flinch, but he just uses it to smooth back his hair.

"This... This is a car, Jacob. Do you not know what a car is?"

I shake my head no.

He sighs. "We'll have to talk more about this later. And to answer your question, a car is just a big machine we use to take us places. It's very safe as long as you have a good driver to handle it, and both Damien and I are very good drivers."
